The Engineer/Programmer is responsible for preparing and validating PCB fabrication and assembly data packages while also programming and supporting production equipment across Adura’s SMT, inspection, and electrical test platforms.
This role bridges design-to-manufacturing execution by converting customer data into production-ready CAM outputs and machine programs for SMT lines, AOI, X-ray, and Flying Probe systems. Key Responsibilities
CAM & DFM Responsibilities
- Review customer Gerber, ODB++, IPC-2581, and CAD data for manufacturability

Description
Accountability:
Develop, implement, and troubleshoot CNC program designs. Provide technical expertise in collaboration with functions across the organization to achieve project goals. Work closely with production to solve problems. Use strong analytical design and project management skills along with product expertise to meet customer requirements.
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Prepare computer programs to control CNC machine operations using CAD/CAM terminal (Siemens NX and MasterCam).
- Prepare flow charts, documents and sequence logic and write complete sequence of machine operations necessary to complete cycle.
- Analyze engineering drawings for materials, process fabrication and design elements.
- Specify patterns on programming sheet for way part is to be machined.
- Assure program meets target cycle time and program generates geometry to customer requirements.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds and feeds, tool path application necessary to perform the operation.
- Assist in the concept design of required tools and gages, support changes to existing tools and fixture as improvements are identified.
- Support lean activities both within the Engineering group and across the organization.
Complexity of Tasks:
Requires strong verbal and written communication skills along with advanced interpersonal skills. Strong project management skills are essential. Must be able to collaborate with other departments and functions in achieving project goals. Use available resources to support customer needs and expectations on both a national and international level.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline preferred and/or equivalent experience.
- Ten or more years direct experience in multi-axis programming of Aerospace machining operations and materials.
- Ability to program in appropriate programming language using either a CAD/CAM terminal and/or manually generated.
- 3D modeling sketcher, assemblies, lathe, and drafting capability in Siemens PLM (NX 8.5) or later version
- CAD/CAM software: Siemens NX and MasterCam required
- Full multi-axis (5+) or partial (3+1) and general CNC machining/programming experience with lathes, milling machines, and mill/turns. Grinding experience preferred.
- CG Tech Vericut experience required.

Under the direction of the Rise Up Industries (RUI) Machine Shop Manager, provide shop supervision and job training for members enrolled in our Reentry Program. As a mill & lathe specialist, this position will also assist with mill & lathe setup, programming, and troubleshooting as needed.

Mission: Rise Up Industries minimizes gang involvement by providing integrated gang prevention, gang intervention, and post-detention reentry services.
History: Rise Up Industries (RUI) was founded in 2013 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, modeled after Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles, the world’s most successful gang intervention and reentry program. In March 2016, we opened our Reentry Program, which assists formerly incarcerated, previously gang involved individuals to successfully reenter society; thereby reducing the gang population and the recidivism rate.
A key component of our Reentry Program is employment experience and training in our Machine Shop Social Enterprise. Our 18-month program provides on-the-job training for our members to become DOL and DAS certified CNC machine operators.
Responsibilities:
· Works with the machine shop manager and the other supervisors to efficiently run the machine shop and training program.
· Work in a hands-on role in all machine shop functions, including programming and running CNC mills & lathes.
· Communicate instructions in a training atmosphere for the members of our program.
· Ensure the timely and accurate production of parts to meet the shop output needs.
