Job Description:

We are looking for Associate Test Engineers for various positions in manufacturing who will be involved with the testing of new technologies such as optics/opto-mechanical, assembly, electrical/PCB, alignment, and system integration. In these positions you will work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required to resolve problems and make routine recommendations.

  • Perform set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of mechanical assemblies at system level.

Qualifications (What we need to see):

  • You have hands-on experience in electro-mechanical assembly, testing, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to work in a clean room environment is required.
  • You have experience with systems development and testing, including formulating system level requirements, test specifications and test results.
  • Hands on experience using Oscilloscopes and DVM analysis tools and equipment is preferred.
  • You are able to use and manipulate a variety of fine adjustment hand tools, torque wrenches and calipers.
  • You work effectively across different functional teams in different locations.
  • You demonstrate excellent written and oral interpersonal skills in English.
  • You demonstrate excellent organization skills, with a logical approach to problem solving, good time management and task prioritization.
  • You are dedicated and able to work with a minimum of supervision.

  • Conduct site safety orientations for new workers and subcontractors
  • Assist in the investigation of incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Maintain and calibrate safety equipment, including air monitoring instruments
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA 1926 & 1910 regulations as well as any applicable NYSDEC/USEPA safety protocols
  • Work closely with site supervisors, subcontractors, and HSE management to ensure safe work practices
  • Support emergency preparedness, including spill response and first aid coordination
  • Maintain safety documentation, records, and logs for audits and reporting
  • Prepare weekly safety briefings and contribute to a proactive safety culture

Required skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in construction or site safety.


Preferred skills:

  • Associate's Degree
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or Environmental Science
  • Work is performed at a former industrial facility undergoing environmental cleanup, demolition, and possible redevelopment
  • Field conditions may include contaminated materials, active heavy equipment zones, and strict environmental controls
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to learn other electronic reporting platforms
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to address co-workers for daily safety briefings

Shifts Available:

  • 2nd Shift – 2:50 PM to 11:00 PM (Ball Plant II & III)
  • 3rd Shift – 10:50 PM to 7:00 AM, Sunday start (Ball Plant II, III & Custom)

About the Role: We are hiring an Electrical-Mechanical Specialist to support our high-tech manufacturing operations. In this role, you'll work independently and collaboratively to analyze, troubleshoot, and maintain cutting-edge production equipment. You’ll also support continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives across the plant.


Key Responsibilities

  • Independently troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild complex electrical/electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance per schedules
  • Plan and execute tasks efficiently to minimize production downtime
  • Assist engineering with equipment modifications and project implementations
  • Calibrate and repair various instrumentation and measuring equipment
  • Record maintenance activities using our computerized maintenance system


What You Bring

  • High school diploma required; vocational training or associate degree in electrical/electronic disciplines preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years; experience in an industrial electrical maintenance role (or 7+ years of experience without formal post-secondary education)
  • Successful completion of a skills assessment and interview process
  • Must have own trade tools


Special Credentials & Skills

  • Expertise in installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, PLCs, instrumentation, HVAC, plumbing, and piping
  • Proficient in reading schematics, blueprints, and using measurement tools
  • Familiar with safety protocols including Lock Out-Tag Out and NFPA 70E
  • Comfortable using cranes, hoists, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
