Performs CT scans as well as procedures in a fast-paced inpatient and outpatient setting. Technologist places IVs, performs study post processing and utilizes an EMR for exam tracking. Performs a variety of CT and radiographic procedures for diagnosis and treatment requiring independent judgement, ingenuity, and initiative. Provides basic ER and Inpatient bedside care and assistance under the direct supervision of the Radiology Manager, physician or RN. The CT Tech must be able to function autonomously utilizing medical protocols and advanced skills under the direction of the hospital medical director .
The CT tech must be effective with communication, clinical skills, and able to work positively in a high stress environment with patients, peers, families and other internal / external personnel. The CT tech is responsible for carrying out the mission and goals of UF Health ONH and UF Health Shands, assuring that safety remains the highest priority throughout the patients care. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Satisfactory completion of Radiologic Technology training in a CAHEA approved school and meets requirements for the registry by the ARRT. Prefer at least one years of experience as a radiologic technologist. Under the general direction of the Pharmacy Manager or designee, will dispense drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners and provide information to patients about medications and their use. He or she may advise physicians and other health practitioners on the selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects of medications.
