ABOUT THE COLLEGE & THE ROLE
Palo Verde College (PVC) is a publicly supported two-year community college serving approximately 7,000 students annually through in-person, online, correspondence, and hybrid modalities. As part of this cluster hire, Palo Verde College seeks dedicated, equity-minded faculty to provide primary face-to-face instruction for incarcerated students at Ironwood State Prison (a level 2 facility). Additionally, faculty may also teach incarcerated learners across five additional CDCR sites through correspondence and Canvas-based instruction, as assigned.
These positions are full-time, tenure-track faculty roles intentionally designed for the Incarcerated Education Program, reflecting PVC?s long-standing leadership in this space and its commitment to strengthening the Rising Scholars program, which PVC helped initiate and continues to proudly advance.
WHAT FACULTY CAN EXPECT
Faculty hired through this cluster will:
- Have a primary teaching assignment at Ironwood State Prison, delivering face-to-face instruction in a level 2 secure institutional setting.
- Teach additional CDCR sites statewide through correspondence and Canvas-based instruction, or main campus students, as program needs require.
- Work within CDCR protocols, including clearance requirements, safety procedures, restricted materials, and technology limitations.
- Participate in specialized onboarding, including CDCR clearance, institutional orientation, and Rising Scholars program support.
- Collaborate closely with Instruction, Rising Scholars staff, and CDCR partners to ensure instructional continuity and student success.

NATURE OF THE POSITION
The instructor will teach classes within the approved discipline(s). In addition, the instructor shall be responsible for creating, maintaining and updating curricula relevant to the assigned instructional area. Further, the instructor will participate in all appropriate faculty functions, including non-teaching assignments, office hours, and committee meetings. This position may require day, evening, weekend, correspondence and on-line assignments.

Salary range:
The compensation model varies depending upon the course delivery format. For a synchronous Live Online course, a reasonable estimate for this position is $1,200 - $3,600 total per course. For an asynchronous Fixed Date Online course, this position is paid $150 - $165 per enrolled student and a reasonable estimate ranges from $1,200 -$3,300 total per course. Compensation may be shared among co-instructors depending upon the percentage of course content that each co-instructor teaches. Instructor compensation is determined by course length, number of units, enrollment, budgetary considerations, and other factors.
Percent time:
Part-time by agreement on a course-by-course basis.
Anticipated start:

General Duties
The department seeks candidates who can support the success of all students through inclusive curriculum, classroom environment, and pedagogy. Specific duties and expectations will vary depending on the method of instruction including: Synchronous Live Online (Zoom) or Asynchronous Online (Fixed Date).
- For synchronous instruction (live online courses), duties include but are not limited to: syllabus development; assignment development; lesson planning for class meetings; preparing and submitting required texts and course materials; reviewing and updating Canvas course site; and delivering lectures, presentations, and learning activities for all required hours of instruction.
- For asynchronous instruction (fixed date online courses), duties include but are not limited to: reviewing the syllabus and pre-populated online course content; learning and utilizing Canvas classroom management tools; and requesting any training needs from the Program Director or Department Director.

Day to Day
The InstructionalDesigner is responsible for managing the Epic curriculum architecture and overseeing all aspects of planning, designing, developing, and implementing training for designated applications for the Revenue Integrity Department. The Instructional Designer will train on the revenue cycle for end users in Registration, Access Center, Unit Secretaries, Bed Planning, Schedulers, Precert Team, Billing for both the Hospital and the Medical Group. This role includes creating and maintaining course curricula, developing realistic practice scenarios and exercises, and building, testing, and maintaining the training environment. The Instructional Designer will educate, credential, mentor, and support Credentialed Trainers, deliver end-user education, and implement tools to measure training success. Work Shift Day (United States of America) Job Summary: Responsible for coordinating the overall functions and activities of the department to assure the successful delivery of quality patient care.
Under the supervision of the Manager/Director, the resource therapist is responsible for developing/implementing process improvements, medication administration, and providing patient care with understanding and awareness of population specific needs.
Addresses the biological, emotional, and developmental, psychosocial, and patient/family education needs when providing care to the patient.
The resource therapist facilitates the management of personnel (i.e.
scheduling, evaluations), and adherence to policy/procedures, protocols, clinical practice guidelines and clinical activities of the department.
Performance of this job will also require a close working relationship with the Medical staff and Respiratory Care Leadership.
Resource also serves as a reference/support person to the staff, physicians, patients, families, and other departments.
Good customer relation, assessment, and communication skills are a must for this job.
