RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Trainer will:

  • Remotely set up training appointment directly with the customer/caregiver
  • Travel to the customers home setting within the general geographic location of the Trainer's home

  • Explain test reporting options
  • Communicate and present themselves in a professional manner
  • Accurately document and submit patient training records electronically
  • Maintain communications with Acelis Connected Health by cell phone, email and internet access
  • Utilize secure encrypted email to communicate anything that includes customers PHI
  • Have reliable transportation

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION:

  • The Trainer must have clinical experience. Current Registered Nurse.
  • Direct experience/exposure to anticoagulation management or homecare is preferred
  • Health education training experience a definite plus
  • No lifting over 15 pounds required without assistance

COMPETENCIES/ EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Web based and interactive training provided by Acelis Connected Health

UC Berkeley Extension invites applications for a pool of dynamic instructors with knowledge and expertise in elementary K-12 education and California's 21CSLA Initiative to teach one or more graduate-level online courses each year.



Courses are offered online:




  • Online instruction is delivered through synchronous live lectures (Zoom) and through our learning management system (Canvas).

Essential Duties

Teaches swimming lessons in the water to all ages according to a prescribed routine and curriculum. Creates and implements lesson plans.


Monitors the use of the swimming pool, classrooms, locker rooms and other areas in the facility; enforces safety rules. Prevents accidents.


Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties such as but not limited to, setting up equipment, putting away equipment, minor maintenance and cleaning, and helping set up and support classes and events.


Responds to public inquiries about aquatics programs and special events, participating in guardian / teacher conferences, safety day, and final day celebration.


Supports Head Instructor with program participant testing, participant swimming skills placement, and maintenance records and statistics for aquatics programs.

  • Designs and identifies educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences, including licensed and non-licensed healthcare personnel, in alignment with HCA and division clinical education request and development processes.
  • Develops activities to achieve specific outcomes related to identified deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill and practice. Plans educational content delivery that encourages learner engagement.
  • Promotes and integrates the EBP in order to continuously improve practice. Conducts, encourages, facilitates, and/or participates in research, EBP, and QI in patient care settings.
  • Identifies and develops strategies to facilitate a continuous process of maturation through lifelong learning.
  • Utilizes novice-to-expert continuum when developing staff. Identifies and provides opportunities for skill enhancement and mastery.

What experience and education is needed for this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing Required
  • Master's degree in nursing Preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership. Preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital. Preferred
  • Currently licensed as an RN in the state of practice or has an active compact state license in accordance with law and regulation Required
  • Nationally Recognized Specialty certification Preferred
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) Required
  • Ability to Travel up to 25%

Under the guidance of the Market Education Director, the Nursing Educator collaborates with facility/market nursing leadership and staff across departments to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate and revise educational programming for all levels of nursing personnel and non-nursing personnel as indicated or requested.

The educator acts as a key resource in the orientation and continuing education of nursing staff at Tenet Healthcare.

The Nursing Educator implements a comprehensive education program for his/her assigned units while following and contributing to Tenet educational goals and vision.

Educational programs typically include, but are not limited to orientation, continuing education and in-services.

Other services may include, but are not limited to process, performance and service-delivery consultation and contributions to the organization through councils, committees and workgroups.

Responsibilities Clinical Education ยท Supports the educational needs for assigned units/clinics including classroom, clinical experiences and learning technologies.

ยท Implements Tenet comprehensive education programs to meet the orientation and ongoing competency needs and professional development needs of the nursing staff, with specific focus for his/her units/clinics, which supports the Tenet model of professional nursing practice.

ยท Ensures all program/ course revisions meet the Department of Nursing and regulatory expectations and standards.

Adheres to national education practice standards and stays abreast of current research into nursing education practice.

Programs are executed and revised based on adult learning principles, organizational and learning theory consistent with Tenet endorsed philosophy and direction.

ยท Provides consultation to enhance continuing education, professional development opportunities and mentorship opportunities.
