Position Overview

We are seeking a CAD Designer / Drafter to support the design and development of low-voltage and electrical system layouts. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, works independently, and can quickly grow their technical skillset.

The ideal candidate will have experience with AutoCAD and a strong foundation in drafting principles. This position will work closely with engineering and project teams to produce accurate technical drawings and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and update CAD drawings and technical designs using AutoCAD.
• Develop detailed drafting documents for low-voltage systems, including:
• Access control systems
• Electrical layouts
• Wiring and cabling diagrams
• Revise drawings based on engineering and project team feedback.
• Maintain organized design documentation and drawing files.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Journeyman Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, blueprints, safety codes, and regulatory compliance. QUALIFICATIONS

• Able to lead a crew of various sizes ranging from 2 – 5 people
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

• Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals

Sigma Technologies has multiple Designer positions available that REQUIRE Outside Plant Fiber Design and/or Drafting Experience. For this role, we are providing FTTH, Joint Use and general OSP Overhead Fiber design services to power utility companies. Note: This position can work remotely, but new hires will be required to come to our headquarters in Perrysburg, OH for an initial 2-week in-person paid orientation and training period.

Position Description:

Designers perform outside plant overhead fiber design for telecommunications companies. Designers should have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in overhead fiber design and will rely on standards, instructions, and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. The Designer is expected to apply experience and knowledge to provide solutions when guidelines will not meet expected outcomes and be able to recommend new and/or improvements to documentation where needed.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO AS AN OSP DESIGNER AT SIGMA:

• Executes work orders for fielding and/or design of infrastructure while meeting quality, time, and budget constraints
• Performs 2-D Civil and/or Electrical type design in CAD (i.e. AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar program)
• Collects data by visually identifying, inspecting, and recording equipment and structures from the field and maps data collected
• Interprets general designs, data, and notes and applies established design guidelines, processes, and procedures
• Is capable of independent work on complex tasks within a competency

As the Associate Manager – Field Services Outside Plant Construction, with a primary focus on leading fiber splicing operations across the Boise market. You will bring substantial hands-on experience in fiber splicing, along with a strong understanding of fiber testing, validation, and quality control standards—critical to ensuring the integrity, performance, and reliability of our expanding fiber network.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing functional leadership and direction to non-exempt Field Service construction roles and external contractors (where applicable) in the assigned geographic areas, directly supporting capital projects and inside and outside plant maintenance.

In this position, you will emphasize a strong focus on the team’s ability to provide premier customer service and technical expertise while exhibiting a high level of professionalism in all internal and external interactions. You will be responsible for achieving all key operating metrics, including:

• Customer Service Address additions through capital project completion
• Capital project targets

• Operating budget adherence

This position requires 24/7 availability and, in some markets, leads a team scheduled to work 7 days per week. This includes managing customer and community escalations in a professional manner.

Furthermore, responsibilities also include local vendor selection and management of network construction and maintenance vendors and, at times, facilities management (i.e., janitorial, snow clearing, lawn mowing, HVAC, generators, electrical, etc.)

This position must reside within 50 miles of Boise, ID and involves frequent travel within the markets for coverage. Additionally, this role reports to the office daily and is not a work-from-home (WFH) position.

• Directs activities and personnel necessary for the construction of installation and repair of TDS OSP fiber networks to ensure Network Operations project timelines are met on time and within project capital budget requirements. Facilitates meetings with Network Services to depict project timelines, ensures project closing information is submitted in a timely manner, and materials and associate time are properly allocated to projects.
• Provides leadership to the direct team and all other teams involved in OSP construction that creates and maintains a challenging and rewarding environment. Ensures team maintains proper understanding of TDS’ goals and is coached through process improvements as those needs arise.
• Assists Network Services in the planning and execution of all capital projects to ensure are completed in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
• Ensures compliance with all TDS policies, processes, and procedures.
• Maintains good working relationships with all adjacent teams.
• Serves as the management point of contact for all TDS network projects and customer related construction issues in specific market(s).

What you'll do on a typical day:

• Inventory Management
• Receive, inspect, and accurately record all incoming inventory, including racks & trays, networking equipment, and other hardware
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper documentation for all items received and shipped
• Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies
• Shipping and Receiving
• Coordinate with suppliers and carriers to schedule inbound and outbound shipments
• Prepare shipping documents, labels, and packaging for outgoing shipments
• Upload, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and completeness
• Transport inventory by hand using material handling equipment (i.e. pallet jacks) in accordance with all safety procedures and protocol
• Facility Maintenance
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including storage areas and shipping/receiving docks
• Assist with the disposal of packaging materials and obsolete equipment as needed
• Compliance and Safety
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a secure working environment.
• Compile with Data Center security measures and access controls
• Support and Collaboration
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data center operations, procurement, and technical support, to fulfill inventory and logistics needs
• Provide support for special projects or initiatives as directed by management
• Complete other duties that may be assigned as required with consideration for quality, safety and efficiency
• Assembly
• Assist in the setup and installation of computer server racks according to provided instructions
• Help in the assembly of server racks by following diagrams and guidelines provided by senior team members
• Handle basic tools and equipment safely and effectively to complete installation tasks.
• Support senior technicians in cable management and organization within the server racks

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• To be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of experience in logistics, inventory management, or related fields
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and software, as well as proficiency in using basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word)
• The ability to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculator
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural documents
• Familiarity with proper lifting techniques and the use of material handling equipment such as forklifts pallet jacks

It'd be great if you also have:

• Additional education or certification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and safely in a team setting
• Ensure a positive, respectful, and professional attitude if everything you do
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including possible overtime when needed

This job requires the ability to:

• Ability to lift and move heavy material and perform physical tasks related to handling server trays and server racks
• Use power equipment to assist the team with safely moving very heavy server racks into position in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines
