This position is for a Principal Design Engineer. If you enjoy working with hands-on multidiscipline teams, the Test Solutions Engineering Center (TSEC) is interested in hearing from you.
The Test Solutions (TS) Effectors Center (TSEC) within the Hardware Engineering Discipline is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing Production and Engineering test equipment solutions for all Raytheon products. We are hands-on designers using the latest technology and tools and integrating state-of-the-art software solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world. TS products are in engineering labs, in the field, and in factories and production testing environments utilized for testing weapon system products. TS has job opportunities across all phases of the engineering lifecycle, including demonstrations, early engineering tests, design verification tests, production, and post-production sustainment.
This Principal Engineer hardware position is focused on supporting and driving the design, development, integration, and maintenance of electronics as a part of on-site factory support of test systems to support weapon system product development and deliveries. The selected candidate will support and drive the development of electrical designs, Interconnect designs, electrical system analysis and integrated development environment specified by the factory solutions and the TSEC organization.
What You Will Do:
- Prioritize and handle several engineering tasks concurrently
- Lead small teams of Electrical Hardware design engineers in support of complex cabling, test chassis or test system solutions
- Develop both engineering and production test systems, test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawing creation, schematic creation, circuit design and analysis

Qualifications You Must Have:

Primary Responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

* Design and prepare data center white space to ensure power, space, cooling (airflow/temperature), and infrastructure standards are met.
* Provide general IT Infrastructure skills with a systematic approach to troubleshooting equipment issues.
* Provide process execution for data center IT asset lifecycle management from installation to operational support, and ultimately asset retirement.

2. Manage business relationship with vendors and suppliers conversations and for prompt delivery to ensure a project is never delayed due to materials/vendor related issues
3. Manage technical delivery team to ensure readiness and preparation work of planning for landing of network racks, power, position and network rack configurations.
4. Manage or initiate new initiative projects to drive continuous improvement of processes in project delivery based on prior lessons learnt and latest AWS standards.
5. Manage resourcing of project and provide guidance to technical delivery teams in terms of project and initiative deliverables, establish metrics, and goals, and provide tactical leadership as well as aligning technical delivery team to the strategic Organization/Company-wide goals

SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes material requirement planning (MRP) reports and independently makes decisions on procuring materials that are on time, under budget, and to customer specification.
- Serves as category expert and is encouraged to make recommendations for re-design to drive cost savings, to build more sustainable sourcing opportunities, and to make supply chain optimizations leading to better overall customer satisfaction.
- Develops and executes supplier managed inventory programs to increase inventory turns.
- Builds strategic supplier relationships fostering collaboration and open dialogue to improve total cost of ownership and on-time delivery metrics.
- Collects and analyzes data to make fact-based decisions that best serve the organization.
- Follows up with suppliers as needed to address any late purchase orders and notifies leadership of potential delivery impacts. Ability to think outside of the box and offer solutions to mitigate delivery risks.
- Processes exceptions and open purchase order reports to identify production gaps and serves as order expeditor with suppliers to address necessary schedule changes or to fix any order discrepancies.
