Duty Locations

Duties and Responsibilities

As a BPA, you will be part of our 60,000+ workforce that strives to protect the American people by safeguarding our borders, deterring illicit activity, and enhancing the nation’s economic prosperity. Typical assignments include:Β 

  • Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration and custom laws and inspecting documents and possessions to determine citizenship or violations
  • Preventing and apprehending undocumented noncitizens and smugglers of noncitizens at or near the borders by maintaining surveillance from covert positions to include using infrared scopes during night operations
  • Interpreting and following tracks, marks, and other physical evidence of illegal entry of persons or contraband
  • Performing farm checks, building checks, traffic checks, city patrols, and transportation checks
  • Patrolling the international boundary and coastal waterways using a variety of government assets such as vehicles, horses, vessels, watercraft, off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and motorcycles for the accomplishment of the USBP Mission.

Qualifications

You qualify for the GL-5 grade level if you possess one of the following:Β 

Experience: One (1) year of general work experience that demonstrates the ability to take charge, make sound decisions, and maintain composure in stressful situations; to learn regulations, methods, and techniques through classroom training and/or on-the-job instruction; and the ability to gather concise information through questioning, observation, and examination of documents and records; ORΒ 

Education Substitution: A bachelor's degree or successful completion of a full four-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; ORΒ 

Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of general work experience AND successfully completed college education. This will be calculated using your resume and official or unofficial transcripts submitted with your application.Β 

You qualify for the GL-7 grade level if you possess one of the following:Β 

Experience: One year of specialized work experience that shows you have the skills necessary to:Β 

  • Make sound judgments and decisions in the use of firearms.

  • Analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions where you will be expected to make arrests after the completion of required training and apply these skills in a law enforcement capacity such as criminal code enforcement, determining violations of laws, correctional or rehabilitation work involving criminal offenders, security, military, etc.

The above experience will be applied in connection with the following: Make arrests and exercise sound judgment in the use of firearms; deal effectively with people in a courteous manner in connection with law enforcement matters; analyze information rapidly and make prompt decisions; or develop and maintain contact with a network of informants.

Education Substitution for the GL-7 grade level: A bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement, which is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average (i.e., GPA of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0), or (3) honor society membership. Or will receive a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as caregiver to the resident during the scheduled work period in long term care. Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational. Qualifications

High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.

Minimum of 18 years of age.

Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.

Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement. CNA training and certification required and provided by facility.

Colorado: Depending on facility, Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) certification with the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment required.

Satisfactorily completes yearly department specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits for each year. A minimum of 12 hours continuing education are required annually. Maintains all department specific required certifications.

When applicable, for applicable states, certified and registered with the Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry.

Dependent on facility and required responsibilities, this role may classify as a Sanford Category II Driver requiring a motor vehicle report and proof of valid driver's license. Description
The Vice Chair for Research will work under the direction of the Systems Chair and in collaboration with other departmental Vice Chairs, Division Chiefs, and Center Directors to provide overall vision, leadership, and coordination of the Department of Emergency Medicine's diverse research team and portfolio that includes clinical, health services, laboratory, translational, operations, and education research. The successful candidate for this position must have a MD, MD/PhD, or PhD. The candidate would be considered for faculty rank of tenured Associate Professor or Professor at RSOM. We seek candidates with current extramural research funding, including federal grants (e.g., NIH, AHRQ, CDC) and other funding agencies. Leadership is an important feature of this position, and successfully mentoring and leading teams of investigators is also an important qualification. This research leader will focus on the development of faculty researchers and expanding the structures that support research in the Department and across the Stony Brook Medicine system. The position will develop an updated research strategy, advance federally funded research , diversify research funding sources, and collaborate with our Center of Excellence for Research and Clinical Trials within the department. The candidate must be experienced in successfully training learners and/or junior faculty in research methods and promoting the independent research careers of these trainees.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate research needs and work with the Departmental and Hospital leadership to analyze and recommend strategic goals (e.g., Space, funding, research management, support, instrumentation, equipment, capital).
  • Lead and facilitate collaborations within the department and across the institution.
  • Expand and further develop research in a supportive clinical environment.
  • Guide the department's research programs and provide strong research mentorship to clinical faculty and fellows in basic, clinical , and population sciences.
  • Guide the development of translational science that covers multiple disciplines.
  • Ensure that all hospital and department requirements are met for research faculty (e.g., grant submissions, career development activities and other academic achievements).
  • Grow research education and department offerings (e.g., grant writing).
  • Enhance relationships with contributing facilities and groups to improve the department's brand awareness and to increase funding opportunities for the research faculty.

  • MD, or MD/PhD, or PhD (or foreign equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience of at least 5-10 years in research in emergency medicine.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in compensation and benefits management, preferably within the construction or related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, compensation structures, and benefits administration.

  • Proficiency in UKG HRIS and/or Power BI preferred.
  • Union knowledge preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.


Travel:

Travel is required for this position- this could include but is not limited to professional development and regional office visits. F&B will compensate for travel when applicable.

Summary:

The Safety & Risk Management Intern will support the Safety & Risk Management Department in the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of safety and risk management programs across field and office operations. This internship offers hands-on exposure to construction safety, regulatory compliance, field audits, incident management, and training initiatives. The descriptions below are representative of, but not limited to, the expectations of this role.



Five Key Roles of the Safety Intern:

  • Support safety program implementation across active job sites
  • Assist with jobsite safety audits, inspections, and observations
  • Help track incidents, near misses, corrective actions, and leading indicators
  • Assist with employee safety training and onboarding activities
  • Support risk management initiatives and continuous improvement efforts



Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist Safety Managers with jobsite safety inspections and documentation
  • Participate in job hazard analyses (JHAs), pre-task planning, and toolbox talks
  • Help maintain OSHA recordkeeping, safety metrics, and departmental reports
  • Assist in incident investigations, documentation, and follow-up actions
  • Support safety training programs, orientations, and safety communications
  • Help update and organize safety policies, procedures, and training records
  • Collaborate with field leadership and project teams to promote safe work practices
  • Perform other safety-related duties and projects assigned
  • Communicating and upholding the Company’s commitment to Integrity and Code of Ethics.
  • Other relevant tasks as assigned.



Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Safety Management, Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong interest in construction safety and risk management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication, organizational, and follow-up skills
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interact professionally with field and office personnel



Travel:

  • Light to moderate travel may be required
  • Travel may include visits to active job sites across company operations
  • Fessler & Bowman will compensate for travel when applicable



Work Environment:

This position includes exposure to both office and field environments. Field environments may include construction sites with exposure to varying weather conditions, uneven terrain, heights, noise, vehicular traffic, and other typical construction-related hazards.
