The Membership Concierge III at Life Time Work delivers the highest quality customer service to all members and guests. The Graduate Nurse Expedition Program at Barnes-Jewish Hospital is a unique, rotational opportunity designed for newly graduated nurses who are exploring which nursing specialty best fits their long-term career goals. This program allows graduate nurses to gain hands-on experience across multiple specialty medical-surgical units during their first year of practice, providing valuable exposure, skill development, and career clarity.
The Expedition Program is only offered at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and is the only program of its kind within the BJC HealthCare organization.
Program Structure:
- Program will span the first year of employment post-graduation with three different unit rotations for four-months each.
- Participants will be paired 1:1 with a preceptor and utilize the 12 week graduate nurse onboarding pathway during their first rotation.
- Rotations occur across specialty med/surg units
- Program is designed to support progrssional growth, confidence, and informed specialty selection

Overview
Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The Acute Dialysis Unit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital provides the latest treatments and technologies in renal replacement therapy to help patients with renal failure. The acute dialysis department has 12 dialysis bays to dialyze patients in the unit, and portable dialysis machines that enable dialysis RNs to travel throughout the hospital and provide dialysis therapy at patients' bedside, if needed. The types of renal replacement therapy we provide are: hemodialysis, CVVHDF, CVVHD, SCUF, SSED, TPE, CCPD, and CAPD. Department hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 24 hours per day.¿ On Sundays the department RNs rotate on-call obligations.

Overview
Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Barnes-Jewish Hospital's staff is composed of full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by a house staff of residents, interns, fellows and other medical professionals. Recognizing its excellence in nursing care, Barnes-Jewish Hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
The Acute Dialysis Unit at Barnes-Jewish Hospital provides the latest treatments and technologies in renal replacement therapy to help patients with renal failure. The acute dialysis department has 12 dialysis bays to dialyze patients in the unit, and portable dialysis machines that enable dialysis RNs to travel throughout the hospital and provide dialysis therapy at patients' bedside, if needed. The types of renal replacement therapy we provide are: hemodialysis, CVVHDF, CVVHD, SCUF, SSED, TPE, CCPD, and CAPD. Department hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 24 hours per day.¿ On Sundays the department RNs rotate on-call obligations.

Responsibilities
- Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
- Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
- Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
- Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
- BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
