ProSidian seeks a Lean Six Sigma Quality Improvement Specialist - Master Black Belt [Full Time] located at The Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC), located at Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center (MMAC) to support an engagement for a Fed. Gov Agencies that provide Aviation Administration and Logistics support to US Govt. Agencies. The Fed. Gov Agency supports a broad range of systems, consisting of thousands of individual pieces of equipment in the Facilities, Surveillance, Navigational Aids, Automation and Communications, Weather Systems and other agencies. In support of National Airspace System systems and other equipment, The Aviation Transportation Agency also provides configuration management, hardware and software documentation, modification(s), field support, systems, and acquisition support. Because The Aviation Transportation Agency Groups/Product Divisions provide technical support and supply support to the National Airspace System (NAS) field facilities and other government agencies, the work to be performed is primarily in support of aircraft guidance systems, surveillance equipment, automation and communications systems and technical data.

The ideal candidate shall work to support requirements as a Lean Six Sigma Quality Improvement Specialist - Master Black Belt [Full Time] and provide support for ProSidian Engineering Services and stakeholders and projects of The Federal Aviation Administration Logistics Center (FAALC). Provide Quality Improvement services, using Lean Six Sigma methodology and techniques, to the FAALC. Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt using Lean, Value-Based Care Redesign, and other appropriate improvement approaches to not only support performance improvement, but to implement the active daily management approach to sustain performance. Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt supports continued execution and development of the \"ProSidian Way,\" which focuses on goal setting, alignment with People strategies, Dashboards, Lean / Performance Improvement activities, and Active Daily Management-including development of standard work, daily critical-to-quality metrics, visual management, rounding schedules, and huddle approaches. Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt supports continued execution and development of ProSidian Value Based Actions Initiative, which focuses on improving operational outcomes, the patient experience, and reducing cost to support our quality, capacity, and growth objectives.

Tasks may include but shall not be limited to items such as the following: a. Work with champions and senior leaders to identify, select and scope Quality improvement projects. b. Conduct Quality improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma methods and techniques to improve current and future processes. c. Facilitate teams, consisting of process owners, to develop Value Stream Maps of current processes eliminating any non-value added steps within these processes. d. Develop and/or revise metrics to measure improvement in the FAA Logistics Centers processes. e. Report status of Quality improvement projects to Senior Leaders.

  • Identify and implement enterprise wide process improvement activities utilizing LEAN/Six Sigma, Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) or similar methodologies to support business infrastructure and procurement of new business opportunities
  • Support the development, prioritization and execution of performance improvement projects utilizing LEAN/Six Sigma, PDSA or similar methodologies for all process improvements
  • Assist with the implementation and training of functional areas regarding process engineering maintenance plans and staff trainings to improve effectiveness
  • Collect, monitor and evaluate project key performance metrics and develop project status reports
  • Facilitate cross functional improvement teams following DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze Improve Control) roadmap or similar improvement process

Qualifications

a. Experience (All levels). Experience across a broad spectrum of business, plant manufacturing or engineering operations. Successfully led a Lean Six Sigma/process improvement team. Proven ability as a project manager with multiple industrial, logistics or manufacturing repair Lean Six Sigma projects successfully completed. The Opportunity

We are seeking a Director of Critical Power to serve as the in-house technical authority on the UPS, power distribution, and emergency power systems that underpin 100% uptime. This role is purpose-built for an experienced critical power professional who has spent a career on the OEM and field service side of the business—commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining the very systems that keep mission-critical facilities running—and is ready to bring that depth of knowledge to an owner-operator environment.


You will be the go-to expert for all critical power infrastructure across our client’s Houston campus, working directly with a tenured operations team during a period of significant expansion. Your deep familiarity with UPS platforms, switchgear, transfer switches, and battery systems—combined with established OEM and vendor relationships—will be a force multiplier for the organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for all UPS systems, including preventive maintenance, firmware management, diagnostics, module-level repair, and full system commissioning.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain critical electrical infrastructure including switchgear, automatic transfer switches (ATS), static transfer switches (STS), PDUs, RPPs, generators, and battery plants.
  • Leverage deep OEM relationships and product knowledge (Schneider/APC, Eaton/MGE, Toshiba/Mitsubishi, Vertiv/Liebert, or similar) to optimize maintenance programs, warranty coverage, and parts sourcing.
  • Perform root cause analysis on critical power system failures and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence and protect uptime commitments.
  • Execute complex switching operations, load transfers, and system isolations following strict Method of Procedure (MOP) protocols and change management processes.
  • Monitor and interpret data from Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) to identify trends, anomalies, and capacity risks.
  • Support commissioning and acceptance testing of new critical power infrastructure associated with our client’s ongoing 24MW expansion, including factory witness testing and site acceptance.
  • Manage vendor and contractor relationships for equipment servicing, warranty claims, emergency callouts, and capital improvement projects.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records, as-built documentation, battery test logs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all critical power systems.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and serve as a first responder for power-related facility alarms and emergency events.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, OSHA, NEC, and all applicable codes and safety standards.


Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in critical power systems, with a strong emphasis on UPS field service, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with UPS platforms from major OEMs such as Schneider Electric/APC, MGE, Eaton, Toshiba/Mitsubishi, Vertiv/Liebert, or equivalent manufacturers.
  • Deep working knowledge of power distribution systems including switchgear, transformers, PDUs, RPPs, bus duct, and battery systems (VRLA, lithium-ion).

Position Description

In this role, you’ll be the lead over a team of 3 hardware engineers, doing design, test, debugging, and release of power inverters and converters (10-300 kW). Your responsibilities will be a mix of hands-on development and guiding team members through the full development life-cycle, from concept to release into high volume production.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate customer/project requirements and selecting appropriate topologies for DC/AC and DC/DC applications
  • Select active semiconductor switching devices as well as passive components required for converter power circuits (capacitors, inductors, transformers, etc.)
  • Have a hand in multiple projects (3-5)
  • Analyze switching and transient behavior of devices to determine limits, proper gating, operation and implementation
  • Design analysis including modeling, simulation, and control loops

  • Perform hands-on lab work building and debugging prototypes
