  • Perform welding, grinding, operating cranes, machining, & fabrication.
  • Perform machining, finishing, assembly, of dies.
  • Support inline tryouts and line calls of dies.
  • Carry out emergency repairs if any issues arise.
  • Perform die modifications for surface quality and accuracy.
  • Work in a team setting.
  • Occasionally travel to support off-site activities at other Toyota facilities and Toyota affiliates.
  • Log daily book entries to communicate activities, issues, and progress of die work.

Experience building and/or maintaining high-volume casting (or stamping) dies, welding ability, and machining. Experience in industrial maintenance, welding, machining and/or military experience. The Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) Flight Test Safety Engineering team is seeking an Flight Test Aviation Safety Official to join our team in Seattle, WA.

The individual will be involved in primarily commercial and commercial derivative test programs. Position Responsibilities:                  

  • Collaborate within a cross section of program disciplines in a very dynamic, fast-paced development and test environment to promote mishap prevention

  • Develop and manage safety requirements in a collaborative environment early in the design process through the life-cycle of the product/program, with specific emphasis on test operations

  • Perform critical safety engineering activities to support ground and flight test/launch preparation and operations, to include support the development of Flight Test Plans (FTPs), Test Hazard Analyses (THAs) and mitigation plans, development of test procedures, and active participation in ground / flight test mission assurance readiness reviews (FTMARRs)

  • Perform Safety Risk Management (SRM) activities in a highly dynamic operational/test environment through support of and/or leading Safety Action Groups (SAGs) activity

  • Provide Safety Assurance (SA) function through interface with Safety data analysts and Quality Assurance (QA) and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) counterparts

  • Provide flight and ground test operations safety support during testing, to include active participation in pretest briefs/debriefs, after action reviews, and develop pre-mishap plans and notification procedures

  • Evaluate customer/operational needs and requirements specifications to develop safety requirements, constraints, and operating limits

  • Review engineering design specifications, test operations, change proposals, deficiency reports, and deviation/waiver requests for potential flight test safety impacts

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

As a Hardware Test Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a key part of the Hardware Test team. This is a small team of broadly experienced engineers that strive to ensure that all hardware being produced meets the stringent requirements for aviation. Hardware Test Engineers are one of the essential interfaces between the design, production, and flight test teams and are exposed to a wide variety of technical challenges.

You will be creating automated test stands to replicate extreme flight conditions on our hardware and mechanisms that will serve as the backbone of our qualification testing. You will help to break our development hardware, help root-cause the failure modes, and provide critical input in redesigning it. You will be writing the software and building the hardware platforms for the command, control and data collection systems that will test our systems to rigorous aerospace standards.

Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of the design, build, and maintenance of mechanical or electrical test stands for development testing, production acceptance testing, functional and environmental qualification testing

  • Automate the repetitive aspects of the test stands

  • Author, execute, and audit test plans, procedures, and reports

  • Work closely with design engineers and flight test engineers to design, build, test and improve flight hardware

Basic Success Criteria

  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience

  • 1+ year of industry experience testing hardware

  • Experience using ECAD tools such as Altium or MCAD tools such as NX

  • Comfort with basic software scripting in Python, C/C++, or MATLAB

  • Working understanding of mechanical or electrical engineering fundamentals

  • Eagerness for hands-on work - integration of sensors, building test fixtures, diagnosing and debugging equipment and hardware

  • Ability to methodically diagnose, document, and solve hardware problems

  • A demonstrated passion for mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical hardware

Preferred Criteria

  • 2+ years experience in aerospace hardware test planning and execution

  • Experience working on and around aircraft

  • Knowledge of aerospace qualification testing standards (MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160, or similar) and the aircraft certification process

  • Experience reviewing technical designs and working from drawings, schematics, layouts, assembly/procedures, master parts lists, and other controlled documentation

  • Familiarity with test instrumentation and data collection methods such as NI DAQ, UEI DAQ, LabJack, etc.

  • Demonstrated proficiency building/fabricating machine parts, cable assemblies, or other testing, integration, or assembly experience

As a Senior Flight Test Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a part of the Flight Test and Integration team. The Flight Test and Integration team is responsible for multiple installation and test efforts at Reliable Robotics. The team regularly ensures the proper function of mechanical, electrical, and flight control systems onboard the aircraft. In addition, this team has ownership over all ground and flight test operations within the organization. The team is composed of individuals with experience developing experimental and certification products.

Responsibilities

In your role as Senior Flight Test Engineer, you will verify the function and capabilities of modified flight control systems, for a remotely operated autoflight system. You will ensure the proper build-up of functions and capabilities, beginning in the lab and ending up on the vehicle. You will be expected to verify the end-to-end functionality of the system and ensure the ability to assess all desired test requirements. This will require engaging with many teams throughout the organization and having a firm understanding of the vehicle's capabilities. As part of the flight test campaigns, you'll act as the responsible engineer for the vehicle and often as test director.

Basic Success Criteria

  • Bachelor's Degree of Science or Engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related discipline

  • 7+ years of experimental flight test experience

  • Prior experience drafting test plans, test cards, test hazard analyses, and acting as test director during a flight/mission

  • Experience with making aeronautical VHF radio calls

  • Demonstrated ability to complete system-level risk assessments

Preferred Criteria

  • Graduate of an SETP recognized flight test school

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering or science discipline or equivalent industry experience

  • Recent Caravan or PT6A experience

  • Diversity of experience in multiple aircraft/ airframes

  • CFII or military flight instructor

  • Experience with automated and/or large remotely operated vehicles (UAS, spacecraft, etc)

Flight Software links together the mechanical, avionics, algorithmic, and embedded worlds to actually make the airplane fly. As a Flight Software Test V&V Engineer, you will develop the test cases to support the test verification processes ensuring that the aviation products we develop are safe to fly and help provide a high-fidelity training environment for our flight-test crews.

Responsibilities

As a Flight Software Test V&V Engineer on the Simulation and Test Systems team, you will be instrumental in testing and deploying autonomous aircraft software. The Simulation and Test Systems team architects, builds, and maintains the hardware and software infrastructure necessary to verify aircraft performance prior to flight testing. Your responsibilities include verifying flight software functionality across diverse integrated test environments, such as software-in-the-loop (SIL), hardware-in-the-loop (HITL), and on-aircraft testing. You will also author and execute test procedures for on-ground aircraft testing.

A key part of this role involves designing, building, and maintaining automated test scripts within our test ecosystem. These scripts will support functional testing and requirements-driven software tests necessary for FAA certification.

This is a highly collaborative, hands-on position. You will coordinate with engineering teams throughout the company to develop test plans, execute tests, investigate issues, and drive problems to closure. You will also be responsible for the maintenance, installation, and troubleshooting of test and simulation equipment.

Basic Success Criteria

  • 3+ years professional experience testing software

  • 3+ years professional experience Python and exposure to C++ build systems

  • 3+ years of experience testing integrated hardware / software products or mission-critical systems

  • Experience authoring problem reports, test reproducibility steps, and procedures for internal team collaboration

  • Hands on experience using laboratory electrical test equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and/or logic analyzers
