Position Summary: Provides support and performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to employee relations, leave administration, disciplinary matters; and investigations; performance and talent management.
Working under minimal supervision, HR Generalist will provide support to employees and managers and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the HR department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with and counsel department managers and employees on preventing and resolving non-complex workplace issues.
- Support subject-matter expert on leave of absence administration including generating leave reports and tracking leaves in Workday.
- Ensure employee leaves of absence in are compliance with policies and regulations (i.e. disability leaves, FMLA, VESSA, etc.).
- Conduct employee interactive process regarding leave processes and paperwork.
- Manage follow up and correspondence with employees and management regarding expected return to work dates.
- Update the leave vendor and appropriate HR staff on specific employee leaves.
- Assist with the Accommodation process to ensure compliance with ADA.
- Handle unemployment compensation cases, including participation during hearings and prepares and provide responses to unemployment vendor.
- Provide guidance and interpretation to employees and managers on Silver Cross workplace policies.
- Assist in updating workplace (HR) policies and procedures.
- Plan, coordinate and implement HR orientations for new and promoted leaders.
- Assist in the implementation of employee recognition programs (e.g. Bengtson, Tree Decorating Contest, etc.).
- Identify, analyze, and address root cause, patterns and trends.

Perform general and specialized landscape and grounds maintenance activities to include plantings, chemical applications and equipment maintenance. Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Maintain trees, shrubs, groundcovers and flower beds (planting, fertilizing, mulching, watering, pruning, etc.)
Job Duty 2 -
Transport equipment and personnel via motor vehicle to and from job sites.
Job Duty 3 -
Perform lawn maintenance to include mowing, line trimming, edging, aeration, fertilization, lime application, etc.
Job Duty 4 -
Maintain landscape and grounds; clear debris, trash, branches and leaves, remove ice, empty trash receptacles, clean storm drains and ash urns
Job Duty 5 -
Apply integrated pest management principles to maintain the Institute's lawn, trees, shrubs, groundcover, and flowers, through cultural practices and chemical use.
Job Duty 6 -
Perform routine maintenance of equipment to include pressure washers, blowers, weed eaters, etc.

Job Summary
Perform general and specialized landscape and grounds maintenance activities to include plantings, chemical applications and equipment maintenance. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: supervisor and coworkers. This position typically will advise and counsel: Groundskeepers I. This position will supervise: NA.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Maintain trees, shrubs, groundcovers and flower beds (planting, fertilizing, mulching, watering, pruning, etc.)
Job Duty 2 -
Transport equipment and personnel via motor vehicle to and from job sites.
Job Duty 3 -
Perform lawn maintenance to include mowing, line trimming, edging, aeration, fertilization, lime application, etc.
Job Duty 4 -
Maintain landscape and grounds; clear debris, trash, branches and leaves, remove ice, empty trash receptacles, clean storm drains and ash urns
Job Duty 5 -
Apply integrated pest management principles to maintain the Institute's lawn, trees, shrubs, groundcover, and flowers, through cultural practices and chemical use.
Job Duty 6 -
Perform routine maintenance of equipment to include pressure washers, blowers, weed eaters, etc.
Job Duty 7 -
Complete daily grounds maintenance reports.
Job Duty 8 -
May provide or assist in training to new employees.
Job Duty 9 -
Perform other duties as assigned

- Provide information about City services, programs, and department functions. Maintain current information or referral information on services not provided by City, depending on assigned responsibilities.
- Depending upon department, may facilitate bankruptcy memorandum routing process.
- Create, post, and remove signs/notices to direct customers to meeting rooms. Coordinate efforts with departments when large groups of people are present for meetings, testing and interviewing.
- Keep copy area and printing stations clean, neat and stocked with paper and office supplies. Call for copier maintenance and supplies when needed.
- Maintain a supply of forms at the front counter.
- Depending upon department, may update code and comprehensive plan books or other pertinent documents.
- Depending upon department, may assist in supporting boards and commissions. This includes contacting members of various boards and commissions when needed to establish availability and provide reminders of meetings. Orders meals for meetings as needed.
- Depending upon department, may scan and attach electronic documents to permit tracking system.
- Order files from archives.
Peripheral Responsibilities:
- As appropriate, assist with requests for copies by general public.
- Receive incoming shipments and miscellaneous deliveries.
- Maintain customer pickup basket and call customers if items are not picked up.
- Provide backup telephone/reception coverage to other departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Basic computer literacy and experience using a personal computer and data entry work.
- Ability to operate a multi-trunk telephone system.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff, elected officials, and other agencies and the general public.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED; Minimum of 2 years work experience in an office environment with heavy public contact, multi-line telephone systems, and passport processing standards, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the functions of the position.
Required Licenses or Certifications:
- Ability to obtain a Notary Designation.
