We are partnering with our Berkeley, CA retail client to recruit a Graphic Designer to join their team on a 5+ month contract basis, set to be between 30-40 hours per week. This is a hybrid role in their East Bay office three days per week. In this position, you will join a thriving design team in creating, finalizing and optimizing digital and print materials. This role encompasses both asset creation AND production work, including creating new assets for web pages, social media campaigns, email campaigns, direct mail pieces, catalogs and similar. You will develop everything from assets, templates, digital enhancements and similar, and will be responsible for image production and color correction efforts. To be a fit, you should bring 3+ years of graphic design experience with strong digital and print background. Experience in production and color correction, and a comfort in these duties, is required, along with Adobe Creative Suite expertise.
This is an opportunity to join a well-know, East Bay retail brand with a fun, colorful style! This role will start at about 30 hours per week during onboarding and the first month, and hours will ramp up to 40 per week over the following several months. This role ensures the production workflow with high safety and quality standards, working with their team to avoid waste and maintain cost control, while operating in accordance with the company’s values and guiding principles.
This role is onsite in our South San Francisco facility. We are currently interviewing for all shifts!
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Maintains a safe environment for the employees and ensures strict adherence to company Health and Safety standards, including PPE Policy.
- Support safety drills following the responsibilities of the position.
- Provides leadership and direction to the team, leading by example.
- Participates in the selection process for new employees, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, corrective action, and work schedules.
- Works with other supervisors and cross-functional department leads to assess employee developmental needs.
- Effectively solves employee issues using a facilitative approach by conducting proper research, investigation, analysis, and evaluation to solve problems.
- Works with Production Managers to implement changes on the operations team.
- Oversees hourly employees’ payroll and ensures that time and attendance for assigned employees are accurate in Paylocity.
- Establishes daily, weekly, and monthly objectives with the production manager and additional Production Supervisors, effectively communicating them to employees, driving results,
- Manages availability of equipment, human and material resources required to meet production targets and efficiencies.
- Maintains the Quality of the product by implementing and enforcing quality control and tracking programs (SPC) to meet quality objectives.
- Effectively works cross-functionally across all departments.
- Ensures equipment operation by calling for repairs and following up on equipment status until back to operation through the work order process.
- Contributes to projects of cost reductions, developing and reporting results.
- Provides information by gathering production performance records and data to prepare reports on performance and progress, presenting to leadership when needed.
- Reviews and maintains daily reporting (batch/production/packaging reports).
- Informs leadership of all requirements tools, supplies, or any resources to accomplish production objectives.
- Understands and can communicate about blueprints, diagrams, schedules, and miscellaneous documents.
- Trains new employees on the use of our machinery safely.
- Leads 5S activities.
- Supports continuous improvement process.
- Supports requests from other departments (NPD, Maintenance.)
- Maintains and covers schedules as needed.
- Additional availability outside of assigned working hours during rare and critical circumstances.
- Committed to following and adhering to GMP and Food Safety practices to comply with SQF and regulatory requirements.
Required Experience
- 5 years of team leadership experience in the manufacturing and production environment
- Food manufacturing experience required
- Development of policies and programs in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with baking technology a plus
- Familiarity with American Institute of Baking (AIB), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) standards.
Basic Qualifications
Basic Qualifications are objective, non-comparative, and relevant requirements essential to performing a role anywhere in the company. Examples include minimum educational requirements or specific degrees, certifications, minimum years of experience in a similar role with similar scope or level of responsibility, experience with core technology tools or platforms such as Microsoft Office, equivalent military experience, etc.

Cover roofs with TPO, EPDM, PVC, and related materials. May spray roofs, sidings, and walls with material to bind, seal, insulate, or soundproof sections of structures.
Requirements- Education: High School/ G.E.D
- Years of Experience: 1-3 years of roofing experience
- Driver's License
- Knowledge of safety techniques and procedures to set up a safety plan including toolbox talks, safety huddles
- Calculate and control labor projections, material storage, and material needs
- Ability to read shop drawings, reproduce manufacturing details, and layout roofs and walls
- Knowledge of how to cut, shape, fit, join, and install edge metal, insulation, ice & water shields, wood, or other construction materials
- Run material inventory
- Knowledge of how to install pipe boots, ridge/hip caps, rake, nail base, valley, eave lock, and ice & water shield
- Knowledge of how to install counter flashing, coping, fascia, gutters, miters, downspouts, roof curbs, flat lock, and thru-wall flashing
- Knowledge of how to install crickets, chimney flashing, curbs, and how to make seaming and horizontal and vertical soldering
- Ability to fulfill: timesheets, shop requisitions, and job reports
- Interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to work on a team and take corrective action when necessary
- Ability to train and supervise the crew and subcontractors as needed in order to meet the quality and production goals
- Meet with GC and customers
- Thoroughly review job file and shop drawing with manager and including the scope of work, materials ordered and delivery schedule, budget for labor productions (man-days), and job site contacts
- Ensure that proper safety and equipment are on the job and used in the proper manner
- Supervise and support crew every day about safety, quality, and labor production
- Monitor and maintain job site cleanliness and daily housekeeping
- Make sure on-site equipment is monitored and maintained, such as oil changes on kettle motors, belts on cutters, etc.
- Prepare and submit daily job reports, field progress problems, technical questions, and timesheets, as directed by manager
- Responsible for overall quality control of each job including: checking for water tightness, mops left on the roof, ensuring the job site is complete and has been cleaned up properly, coordinate punch list and job close out before crew leaves job site for the last time
- Install, repair, or replace single-ply roofing systems, using waterproof sheet materials such as modified plastics, elastomeric, or other asphaltic compositions
- Cut felt, shingles, and strips of flashing, and fit them into angles formed by walls, vents, and intersecting roof surfaces
- Install vapor barriers and/or layers of insulation on the roof decks of flat roofs and seal the seams
- Install partially overlapping layers of material over roof insulation surfaces, determining distance of roofing material overlap using chalk lines, gauges on shingling hatchets, or lines on shingles
- Cover roofs and exterior walls of structures with slate, single-ply systems, asphalt, aluminum, wood, gravel, gypsum, and/or related materials, using brushes, knives, punches, hammers, and other tools.
