What the job actually is:

You'd be our event banquet chef, preparing full meals for weddings every weekend. Our events are usually 150-400 guests, plating, and service execution based on what each couple has selected. This isn't line cooking. It's organized, high-volume, and you're running the show.

After a training period, you'd be managing the kitchen independently. Ordering, prep, execution, all of it.

This is a demanding job. You work every weekend. Your typical schedule is Wednesday through Saturday, with Sundays, Mondays, and sometimes Tuesdays off. There's no sugarcoating it. If you need weekends free, this isn't the right fit.

Join our team as an Assistant Maintenance & Facilities Manager and play a key role in keeping multiple 3PL-operated facilities across the Midwest running safely, efficiently, and reliably.

This role is ideal for a hands-on, “jack of all trades” maintenance professional who’s ready to lead, troubleshoot, and support day-to-day facility operations across several sites.

What You’ll Do

Support the Senior Maintenance & Facilities Manager in leading maintenance techs, contractors, and seasonal staff.

Provide daily direction, task prioritization, and ensure safe, compliant work across all sites.

Perform and oversee preventive maintenance and repairs (HVAC, electrical, mechanical, automotive/yard vehicles, plumbing, general facility systems).

Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate vendor services when needed.

Assist in facility upgrades, layout changes, racking, and infrastructure projects.

Conduct site inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.

Support snow removal operations and seasonal responsibilities.

Maintain accurate records, asset tracking, work orders, and reporting through company systems.

Participate in emergency/on‑call rotations for weather events, outages, or urgent repairs.

Transport company equipment using CDL (scissor lifts, trailers, heavy assets).

What You Bring

3+ years of experience in facility maintenance, building operations, warehouse maintenance, or skilled trades.

Working knowledge in at least two: HVAC, electrical, mechanical/automotive repair, carpentry, or industrial systems.

Valid CDL license required.

Strong troubleshooting ability across multiple technical areas.

Experience leading or mentoring maintenance personnel (preferred).

Ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple facilities.

Proficiency with maintenance management systems, work order tools, asset tracking, and standard reporting software.

Willingness to travel daily between regional sites; some overnight travel may be required.

Work Environment

You’ll work across warehouses, maintenance garages, outdoor areas, elevated spaces (ladders/lifts), and customer-leased spaces—often around heavy equipment and active warehouse operations.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, climb, kneel, and perform hands-on maintenance tasks.

Must be medically certified per DOT standards and able to use required PPE.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Procurement

• Develop bidders list, including ability to analyze information in CPS and be aware of local market capabilities
• Develop overall bidding strategy for project
• Manage distribution of bidding documents and tracking of bidders, including solicitation of bidders and management of data within CPS
• Organize and conduct pre-bid meetings
• Manage bidder question process
• Manage development of work scopes and mentor others on their creation
• Develop front end documents for bidding based on project needs and requirements of owner contract
• Receive/evaluate bids and conduct post-bid reviews
• Write subcontracts, both standard subcontract orders and more complex types such as professional services or design-assist

Planning

• Initiate setup of a complex project schedule and creation of activities and logic, with no/little assistance on durations and schedule flow.
• Develop site logistics plans in conjunction with superintendent
• Set up a multi-element cash flow and manpower projection analysis at varying stages of the project
• Prepare constructability reviews to determine completeness of documents
• Review estimates prepared by preconstruction group for potential scope holes
• Initiate set up of jobsite, including mobilization of trailer and setup of jobsite staff

Field Operations

• Establish and oversee the safety plan at the jobsite; set safety culture at jobsite
• Ensure punchlist process is completed in a timely manner
• Assist with management of labor relations with field personnel, including interactions with unions
• Implement emergency crisis procedures and ensure staff is appropriately trained
• Manage owner equipment coordination process
• Facilitate Mechanical/Electrical overhead coordination or BIM process

Cost Management

• Create and manage general conditions budget. Monitor and update projections monthly
• Establish non-reimbursables based on interpretation of contract; work to minimize their usage
• Set up trade budget structure and log into Prolog
• Review budget entries of others and evaluate reports for accuracy
• Regularly monitor project costs and effectiveness of change management process
• Oversee creation of cost items in prolog and issuance to contractors
• Assist with processing changes to owner agreement
• Support job-site cash management, including monitoring of job profitability and timeliness of payment

Management

• Facilitate meetings with the project team
• Ensure RFIs and submittals are being appropriately processed by the engineering staff
• Ensure office procedures are implemented, including filing system, correspondence formats, start-up documents, closeout documents, and archiving
• Manage ultimate agency acceptance of the project, including serving as an interface to code officials
• Involvement in seeking repeat and new business sales
• Assist with response to RFPs and preparation of presentations for new projects
• Manage job relations and communication needs with the Architect/Engineer

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
• 6 + years’ experience in GC/CM Construction Management
• Healthcare construction experience, ideally projects $10 million+
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to support projects across the Greater Charlotte Region

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Brockton, MA, for a Forklift Supervisor. The Forklift Supervisor will oversee and coordinate daily warehouse operations, including the loading, unloading, and handling of materials, as well as the coordination of arrival and departure of road trailers.
