Position Description:

This is a full-time position at Brawerman West as an Upper Grade Academic Support Specialist with responsibility for working with Grades 3-6 students with varying challenges in accessing the curriculum. This is a highly collaborative position, requiring both expertise and flexibility. The Upper Grade Academic Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating accommodations for students and supporting teachers, in collaboration with and under the supervision of the Director of Student Support. As a member of the Brawerman West Academic Support Team, the Upper Grade Academic Support Specialist will develop and curate resources to aid teachers in research-based teaching practices, provide ongoing support and professional development for teachers, coordinate and support accommodation plans for students, provide small group and individual instruction for students recommended for support, and provide parents with relevant resources.

Responsibilities:

In 2019, TEENS, Inc. began operating a preschool, New Explorers Learning Center, for 2.5-5 year olds, serving 25 families in the Nederland area. Seeing a greater need to support more families, TEENS, Inc. began embarking on a capital campaign to raise funds to build a comprehensive infant, toddler, preschool facility. On August 1st, 2025, building began on our new preschool facility. Once completed, this new facility will allow us to increase our numbers to 65 students, in addition to providing much needed infant care for the area. We are currently seeking an ECE Director to help lead us through this exciting time.  


Under the administration of the Executive Director, the ECE Director is responsible for the operations and management of New Explorers Learning Center (NELC). The new director will transition operations from our current site to the new site with an expected fall 2026 opening.  Duties will include working some hours at our current school; hiring and training new staff; developing policies and procedures and securing a new license for the new facility; and developing programming at the new school ( ).  The ECE Director helps to create and maintain a classroom culture of health and safety, both physical and emotional. Classes are held Monday and Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. This position is open to applicants 18 years of age and older with prior experience teaching group aquatic fitness classes. In this role, you will plan and lead safe, engaging workouts that include warm-ups, conditioning, strength and flexibility exercises, and cool-downs, while demonstrating routines and supporting participants throughout each class.

The Kirkland Parks and Community Services Department is seeking Recreation Attendant staff for the North Kirkland Community Center. This position acts as on-site City representative for recreation programs and activities. Preschool Park Art and Play is an Art and play minicamp for ages 3-5. Crafts, games, exploring and free play at the playground. Each day will include a craft, story, and some active play. Minicamp is Tuesday-Thursday, July 7-August 13 9am to 2:30pm.

The role of the Recreation Attendant is to provide outstanding customer service and assist in providing operational support to recreation programs, facilities, and events within Parks and Community Services. Position description

Data Science Undergraduate Studies (DSUS) at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary lecturers to teach DSUS courses should an opening arise. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. The number of positions varies from semester to semester (fall, spring and summer sessions), depending on the needs of the unit.



About DSUS



Data Science Undergraduate Studies (DSUS) offers a range of academic, co-curricular, and enrichment programs-including the Data Science major and minor-with a wide-reaching impact both across UC Berkeley and beyond.



Designed in collaboration with faculty from across Berkeley, Data Science invests students with deep technical knowledge, expertise in how to apply that knowledge in a field of their choosing, and an understanding of the social and human contexts and ethical implications of how data are collected, analyzed, and used. This combination positions graduates to help inform and develop solutions to a range of pressing challenges, from adapting industry to a new world of data to amplifying learning in education to helping communities recover from disaster.



DSUS is part of the College of Computing, Data Science, and Society (CDSS), which strives to develop, implement, and share high-quality, ethics-oriented, and accessible curricula, educating a diverse student body in data science, computing, and statistics. Core to the college is an understanding of how computing and data science affect equality, equity, and opportunity-and the capacity to respond to social challenges.

Responsibilities



DSUS is seeking outstanding instructors to be appointed in the non-Senate Lecturer title series who can teach small and large courses in several areas. We are particularly interested in instructors who can combine computational and inferential thinking in a way that reflects the new field of Data Science Education.



Core courses include:

Fundamentals of Data Science

Principle and Techniques of Data Science

Human Contexts and Ethics of Data

Data and Justice

Data, Inference, and Decisions

Honors Thesis Seminar



Connector Courses: Instructors may be hired to teach Connector Courses that connect Foundations of Data Science with other disciplines, such as neuroscience, legal studies, public health, demography, English or others. Connector courses allow students to apply theoretical concepts from data science to a particular area of interest. Course design and syllabus will leverage the sequence of computational and statistical techniques that students learn in the Foundations course.



Teaching a Data Science course may include holding office hours, assign grades, advise students, prepare course materials (e.g., syllabus), provide clear and prompt feedback on student work, and maintain the course website.
