As we scale, we need someone who can own and elevate our test automation infrastructure, embedding intelligence and AI support into our QA workflows.

As the SDET, you’ll be the first test automation engineer responsible for architecting and building automation frameworks, integrating AI/ML tools for test generation or validation, and ensuring high-quality releases across iOS, Android, hybrid (React Native), and backend systems.

You’ll set up the foundation of how we ship software reliably across platforms, collaborating deeply with product, development, and operations to ensure we release with confidence.

You’ll bring creativity to quality; leveraging AI, automation, and tooling to dramatically reduce manual effort; while having strong ownership within a small, agile team where your decisions and contributions directly impact product quality.

In this early-stage environment, you’ll also help define the culture of engineering and quality as we build a world-class streaming experience from the ground up.

This role is onsite and located in Seattle, WA.

Key Responsibilities Lead design, implementation, and maintenance of test automation frameworks, tools, and infrastructure across platforms (mobile, hybrid, backend, APIs).

Build tools, scripts, or capabilities using AI / ML-assisted test generation, test case optimization, or anomaly detection to improve coverage and reduce manual effort.

Create and own test suites: unit, integration, UI, end-to-end, regression, performance, load, and stress tests.

Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines, gate builds, and automate release validations.

Collaborate with mobile, hybrid, and backend engineers to define testing strategies, API contracts, failure modes, and observability for testability.

Instrument test environments, monitor test health, coverage, flakiness, and reliability metrics.

Design test data management, mocking, virtualization, and service simulation setups for cross-system testing.

Continuously improve test architecture, reduce test execution times, and scale for parallel / distributed test runs.

Troubleshoot production / pre-production issues that surface via automated test failures; investigate root causes, define fixes, and improve resilience.

Stay up-to-date on AI / ML tooling (e.g.

GPT-based test generation, self-healing tests, anomaly detection) and propose adoption strategies.

Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience 5+ years of software engineering or QA/automation experience, with strong emphasis on test automation Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g.

Java, Kotlin, Swift, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript) Experience building and maintaining test frameworks (e.g.

XCTest / XCTest UI, Espresso, Detox, Appium, Playwright, Selenium, Robot Framework, etc.) Familiarity with CI/CD, test runners, parallel / distributed execution (e.g.

Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitrise, CircleCI) Deep understanding of API testing, contract testing, mocking / stubbing, and test data strategies Experience with performance/load testing tools (e.g.

JMeter, Gatling, K6, Locust) and monitoring test metrics Strong debugging and instrumentation skills Understanding of software engineering best practices: modular architecture, maintainability, observability, and reliability Preferred Qualifications Experience applying AI / ML in testing, e.g.

test-case generation, self-healing scripts, anomaly detection Experience with mobile / hybrid / TV / living room test stacks (iOS, Android, React Native, tvOS) Experience in media / streaming apps, where video, DRM, adaptive bitrate streaming, and edge conditions matter Experience with performance / load testing on streaming pipelines Familiarity with infrastructure as code, containerization, and cloud test environments Knowledge of monitoring, logging, tracing, and how to incorporate them into test validation Experience optimizing test execution time, flakiness, and parallel scaling Passion for quality, automation, and developer productivity Tennis Channel is proud to be equal opportunity employer and a drug free workplace.
