Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is making waves in the Mid-Atlantic with our newest location in Spotsylvania, Virginia, expected to open late 2026. Our fifth resort will feature over 175,000 square feet of indoor waterpark fun, 900 family-friendly suites, and a massive convention center.
Restaurant General Manager
Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking multiple Restaurant General Managers for a variety of concepts. In this role, you’ll lead with heart, inspire your team, and create memorable dining experiences that keep guests coming back.
Although some see meals as just something you do between waterslide runs or meetings, part of your Kalahari experience is world-class dining. At Kalahari, we take food pretty seriously. Every location features restaurants to satisfy every taste, from steakhouses to ice cream shops. You'll never have to eat in the same spot twice... but you just might want to.

- The Last Bite – Your go to spot for sweet indulgence, most everything is handmade.
- Java Manjaro – Fresh Starbucks® coffees, scratch pastries, desserts and more.
As part of our leadership team, you’ll embody our Promise to Lead with Love—guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. You’ll help create a memorable dining atmosphere through delicious food, warm hospitality, and timeless charm.
These positions are scheduled to begin in mid-September.
We’re taking our time to find the right fit — a visionary who leads with both creativity and humility. This process will include discovery calls, informal conversations, and in-person interviews as we approach launch.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure exceptional food quality, service, and cleanliness.
- Lead, train, and develop associates to support engagement, performance, and retention.
- Manage financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and revenue growth.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and company standards and procedures.
- Collaborate with resort leadership to align the outlet’s vision with overall guest experience goals.
What We’re Looking For
- We do require a background of general food and beverage knowledge, including at least four years of front-of-house operations and/or management positions in a hotel, resort, family owned-operation or large chain (such as Cheesecake Factory, Chick-fil-A, Olive Garden, Starbucks, Sweetgreen)
- Experience in P&L management, budgeting, and controlling labor/food costs.
- Familiarity with POS systems, scheduling software, inventory tools, and reporting dashboards.
- In many outlets, experience managing a bar will be required.
- History of managing operations of $3M or more annually.
