Position Summary
The Electrical Systems Engineer will lead and support the development of high-voltage battery systems, power distribution architectures, and vehicle-level electrical integration. This role spans system design, requirements, embedded controls coordination, safety analysis, and hands-on prototype validation.
You will collaborate closely with mechanical, controls, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust systems through the full development cycle—from concept to system launch.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical & System Design
- Design and document electrical architectures, schematics, wiring diagrams, and component selections for Li-ion battery systems, HV distribution, and vehicle integration.
- Develop and maintain system requirements, interface definitions, DFMEAs, PFMEAs, DVP&R, and system test plans.
- Apply strong engineering knowledge of HV components: contactors, switches, HVIL, insulation, isolation monitoring, safety interlocks, bus bars, sensors, and protective devices.
- Support PCB/hardware development efforts (Altium preferred; OrCAD or equivalent considered).
Controls & Software Integration
- Coordinate with controls and software teams on system behaviors, state machines, protection logic, and calibration.
- Support embedded controls development using MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow, model-based design, and C-based integration review.
- Use CAN tools (Vector CANalyzer, CANape) to evaluate control systems, validate functionality, and troubleshoot issues.
Testing, Validation & Debug
- Develop validation test procedures for system-level and component-level verification.
- Perform hands-on prototype testing, fault evaluation, root-cause analysis, and troubleshooting of high- and low-voltage systems.
- Follow lab and vehicle test procedures to evaluate system performance, safety interactions, and functional behavior.
Program & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work with internal team members and external suppliers to ensure successful design, build, and validation.
- Participate in recurring technical review meetings to identify risks, integration issues, and quality concerns.
- Assist in project planning—tracking timing, risks, status, and technical deliverables.
Documentation & Build Support
- Generate and coordinate build documentation, assembly instructions, inspection sheets, and test records.
- Support prototype build reviews, manufacturing handoff, and initial production readiness.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls, Computer Engineering, or Mechatronics from an accredited institution.
- Equivalent experience will be considered.
Experience
- 5–15 years of experience in electrical or systems engineering for EV, hybrid, automotive, heavy vehicle, or defense systems.
- Proficiency in electrical system architecture, safety concepts, and requirements flow-down.

Network Infrastructure & Support
- Configure, monitor, and maintain our LAN/WAN infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Perform routine diagnostics, network segmentation, and performance tuning to proactively address potential issues.
- Manage firewalls, VPN configurations, and VLAN provisioning to enhance network security and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues and optimize network performance, ensuring high availability and reliability for all users and equipment.
System Administration
- Administer Microsoft Entra ID, Azure AD, and other identity management systems to ensure secure and efficient access.
- Manage Microsoft Intune, endpoint protection solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike), and patch management tools to safeguard our devices and data.
- Deploy and maintain virtual machines, server infrastructure (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud resources.
- Support and enforce IT security policies, including email protection, using ProofPoint, and vulnerability remediation, using Automox, to protect against cyber threats.
Operational IT Support
- Provide expert Tier 2/3 support for system and network-related incidents and requests, resolving issues promptly and effectively.
- Maintain comprehensive system and network documentation to ensure clear and efficient operations.
- Collaborate closely with vendors and service providers for support, procurement, and to leverage external expertise.
- Participate in an on-call support rotation, as needed, to provide timely assistance outside of regular business hours.
- Handle the initial deployment of corporate computers and related hardware, ensuring new team members are set up for success.
Project and Process Improvement
- Assist in critical IT projects, including infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, and system rollouts, contributing to our growth.
- Proactively recommend improvements to enhance system efficiency, reliability, and security, driving continuous improvement in our IT landscape.
- Provide valuable input into IT planning and budgeting related to systems and network infrastructure, helping shape our future IT strategy.
- Deploy corporate computers and related hardware.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in IT system administration and network support roles.
- Proficient in: Intermediate network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, etc.)
- Managing Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, and Entra ID
- Familiarity with email and endpoint security platforms
- Familiarity with hypervisors (VMware or Hyper-V), patch management, and cloud administration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial IT environment.
- Relevant certifications: CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or equivalent.
- Experience with tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, PRTG, or similar for monitoring and diagnostics.
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus.

The Stormwater Treatment System Operator at the Stella-Jones manufacturing plant in Sheridan, Oregon is responsible for ensuring stringent environmental compliance with all aspects associated with the operation of the stormwater treatment system to include compliance with the facility's State issued stormwater permit. This role is of critical importance at Stella-Jones, reflecting the company's dedication to upholding the highest standards in environmental compliance and stewardship.
Shift & Pay Range:
Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm - Must be available On-Call as needed
$29.87 to $40.00/hour + profit sharing program
Principal Responsibilities:
Health and Safety is the number one priority at Stella-Jones: Perform all work in a safe manner and comply with all safe work policies, programs, and procedures.
Operate equipment and utilize chemicals to treat stormwater for discharge in compliance with the State issued facility stormwater permit.
Manage waste materials generated at the facility for disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Inspect, clean, repair, and maintain the condition of stormwater treatment equipment, chemical systems, tanks, filters, pumps, filter press and associated equipment.
Monitor operating conditions, meters and gauges to determine system efficiency and detect malfunctions.
Coordinate larger repairs and maintenance with the appropriate management personnel and subcontractors.
Collect, preserve and ship samples to a laboratory for analysis.
Record and maintain records as required for the stormwater treatment system operation and regulatory reporting.
Test, troubleshoot and respond to all alarms at the facility. Verify all backup systems are operational.
Maintain a clean and efficient work area.
Maintain positive working relationships with coworkers.
Attend and participate in training.
The successful operation of the stormwater treatment system is critical to the facility. There will be times when long hours and overtime work are required. This may occur during day, night or weekend shifts.
Other reasonable directives, responsibilities and activities may be assigned with or without advanced notice
Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in wastewater treatment required
Certification in wastewater treatment required
Thorough knowledge and understanding of industry best practices, risk assessment techniques, standards, and all applicable laws and regulations as they relate to the stormwater treatment field is required
High school diploma or equivalent
