The Plant Manager at Stella-Jones in Arlington is responsible for managing daily plant operation functions in a safe manner to ensure production schedules and requirements are achieved on a quality, timely and cost-effective basis. This leader ensures compliance with government regulations pertaining to environmental controls, hazardous waste management and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Safety, Environmental & Regulatory Compliance

  • Drives a positive safety culture by setting a strong example and continually improving the effectiveness of safety training and programs.
  • Ensures compliance with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations, including environmental controls and hazardous waste requirements.
  • Trains and ensures all assigned employees understand and adhere to safety, environmental, and operational requirements.

Production Operations & Performance

  • Manages daily plant operations to ensure production schedules and requirements are achieved safely, on time, and within quality standards.
  • Establishes production and quality control standards and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.
  • Ensures all established cost, quality, safety, and delivery commitments are met.
  • Coordinates manufacturing activities with internal functions and suppliers to optimize the utilization of personnel, equipment, and materials.

Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of work experience in the manufacturing industry required
  • Five or more years of manufacturing plant leadership experience (ideally in roles such as Plant Manager, Production Manager, etc) required; Seven or more years preferred
  • Experience in wood products manufacturing or a similar industrial manufacturing environment preferred
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge and practical experience of lean manufacturing methods
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and environmental policies and procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Engineering

Overview


The Chief Roadmap and Innovation Officer will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our global product and innovation roadmap โ€” unifying near-term priorities with long-term disruptive thinking. Overview


The Chief Roadmap and Innovation Officer will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our global product and innovation roadmap โ€” unifying near-term priorities with long-term disruptive thinking. Customer Advocacy & Market Insight

  • Act as the voice of the customer, incorporating their needs and experiences into product decisions.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies.
  • Conduct user research, gather feedback, and analyze data to continuously refine the product.

Education and/or Experience Needed

  • University degree or college diploma in the field of Business or Information Technology.
  • 5+ yearsโ€™ direct work experience in a product management, program management, or a related role


Qualifications You Must Have

  • Excellent project management, coordination, and organization skills
  • Ability to work well with clients and colleagues through a variety of communication methods
  • Exceptional customer service and presentation skills
  • Experience demonstrating products both internally and externally
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to solve problems
  • Experience collecting feature functionality requests from clients and organizing, prioritizing and working with development teams to implement
  • Basic-to-Intermediate level knowledge of SQL, database environments, and code trouble-shooting preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with experience influencing stakeholders.
  • Experience working with agile development teams and tools
  • Comfort with data analysis and metrics-driven decision-making.
  • Deep understanding of assigned product suite
