Position Overview

The Production Supervisor will oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring that safety, quality, productivity, and delivery goals are met. This leader will guide a team of production associates, foster a collaborative environment, and champion lean practices to reduce waste and improve workflow.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise production team members across daily operations to meet output, safety, and quality objectives.
• Plan, assign, and monitor workloads to maintain a balanced and efficient production schedule.
• Enforce safety policies and support a culture of incident prevention and operational discipline.
• Utilize lean principles to identify waste, improve workflow, and drive consistent process improvements.

Job Qualifications:

·        Minimum 3 years construction estimating experience;

·        Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed with an understanding of fundamentals in estimating and project controls;

·        Ability to breakdown construction operations into a logical sequence of activities; 

·        Fundamental understanding of construction phasing and organization of building components;

·        Good time management skills;

·        Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and precision in estimating;

·        Ability to work independently as well as collaborate as part of a team;

·        Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients;

·        Experience using computers for a variety of tasks, including applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel;

·        Experience using Bluebeam.

Responsibilities:

·        Receive requests directly from customers and communicate effectively to ensure customer expectations are met;

·        Analyse project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work;

·        Conduct detailed cost estimates for labor and materials;

·        Prepare and submit comprehensive bid proposals to clients;

·        Revise bids as needed when addendums and/or new plans become available;

·        Provide ongoing support by reviewing change orders.

The Assistant Traffic Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and/or dispatching non-ferrous truck shipments, negotiating freight rates with carriers, and insuring on-time pick-up and delivery of product between facilities and broker accounts.

• Monitors, analyzes and negotiates freight rates with existing contract carriers, manages carrier to achieve most cost-effective utilization.
• Reviews established origin/destination points and negotiates rates with new and existing carriers to increase carrier base and reduce freight costs
• Expedites transportation solutions by trouble-shooting immediately when problems arise
• Contacts facility representative and broker account to determine when product is available to ship; notifies carriers of pick up and/or delivery schedule
• Sorts freight and demurrage bills, confirms accuracy of invoices and submits for payment
• Maintains the freight rate database
• Acts as back up for other traffic coordinators handling trucks
• Other responsibilities or projects as requested or assigned

Requirements:

• At least 2-3 years experience in the traffic/transportation industry
• Must be highly detail- oriented
• Must have excellent communications skills in order to manage communications between carriers, facilities, traders, vendors, suppliers to successful conclusions
• Demonstrated proficiency in Word and Excel required
• High School Diploma or equivalent required - Bachelors degree preferred.
