Landhawk Consulting LLC is seeking several Biologists/Environmental Scientists to join our growing environmental and cultural resources team in New Mexico. Established in 2012, Landhawk is a multidisciplinary environmental consulting firm of 25 professionals with expertise spanning natural resources, cultural resources, and water resource management. Our team includes wildlife biologists, archaeologists, environmental scientists, aquatic ecologists, and permitting specialists who support infrastructure and compliance projects across Texas and the greater Southwest.


The successful candidate will assist in biological regulations compliance, construction monitoring, and biological surveys within the New Mexico border region. This position offers hands-on experience working with diverse environmental projects in support of state and federal environmental compliance programs.


Position Details and Expectations


Interested candidates should submit a detailed resume or CV, along with unofficial transcripts, outlining relevant field and project experience such as biological survey work, construction monitoring, and biological resource documentation in New Mexico and the surrounding border region. Candidates should have experience or interest in endangered plant species survey, nesting bird surveys, and biological resource monitoring in support of environmental compliance. Familiarity with the avian communities and flora of southwestern New Mexico.


Responsibilities:

Β 

β€’ Perform routine inspections and oversee construction to ensure compliance with environmental regulations

β€’ Monitor the state and condition of stormwater related best management practices (BMPs)

β€’ Conduct biological monitoring

β€’ Assist with vegetation surveys

β€’ Perform weekly migratory nesting bird surveys

β€’ Relocate wildlife including but not limited to protected reptile species, injured birds, and some aquatic organisms when found

β€’ Produce daily, and occasionally weekly reports regarding information collected from field inspections

Minimum Qualifications:

The Diesel Fleet Mechanic position optimizes the department workflow, quality, & efficiency through maintaining equipment in a well-trained & an effective / collaborative team environment. This position supports the fleet and is responsible for maintaining mobile equipment and systems to provide dependable support to the Lancaster, PA and Baltimore, MD locations. Responsibilities


  • Performs inspection, maintenance, & repairs on heavy duty vehicles (trucks, tow motors, trailers, etc.)
  • Responsible for diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical trouble shooting, steering, & cooling systems
  • Tracks and monitors all maintenance work through the RTA software program
  • Repairs and maintains mechanical equipment:
  • Ensures all jobs in the shop and plant area are completed in a proficient and safe manner
  • Uses computers to issue parts and update comments on work orders/task list including diagnostic programs for engines and hydraulic systems, etc.
  • Ensures all personal protective equipment is used as needed
  • Monitors garage / plant for supply stock and cleanliness
  • Establishes & maintains effective communication / coordination with staff & management:
  • Coordinate with dispatch / drivers to schedule routine maintenance & discuss problems
  • Provide professional & respectful treatment to drivers, visitors, employees, & management
  • Inform management of area activities & significant problems
