The purpose of this position is to serve as a liaison between patient/family, payers, Patient Financial Services, and other health care team members. You'll be asked to facilitate patient tracking and billing by obtaining/verifying accurate and complete demographic information, financially securing, and collecting out-of-pocket responsibility from guarantors to maximize hospital reimbursement.
Essential Job Functions- Maintain compliance with EMTALA, DNV, HIPAA and all other hospital and government regulations applicable to the Admissions settings and in handling of Medical Records
- Provide excellent customer service at all times by effectively meeting customer needs, understanding who the customers are, and building quality relationships
- The Patient Access Specialist plays a role in protecting patient safety by ensuring each patient is properly identified and triaged when they arrive to the hospital
- Answer telephone in a professional and courteous manner, record messages and communicate to appropriate medical staff
- Provide and obtain signatures on required forms and consents
- Obtain, verify, and enter complete and accurate demographic information on all accounts to facilitate smooth processing through the revenue cycle
- Verify insurance benefits for all plans associated with patient, confirming the correct payor and plan is entered into the patient accounting system
- Obtain insurance authorizations as required by individual insurance plans where applicable
- Maximize the efficiency and accuracy of the collection process by pursuing collections at the time of service in a customer service-oriented fashion
- Scan all registration and clinical documentation into the system and maintain all medical records
- Assist with coordinating the transfer of patients to other hospitals when necessary
- Respond to medical record requests from patients, physicians and hospitals
- Maintain cash drawer according to policies
- Maintain log of all patients, payments received, transfers and hospital admissions
- Maintain visitor/vendor log
- Maintain a clean working environment for the facility. This includes the front desk, restroom, waiting room, break area and patient rooms when assistance is needed by medical staff
- Receive deliveries including mail from various carriers and forward to appropriate departments as needed
- Notify appropriate contact of any malfunctioning equipment or maintenance needs
- Attend staff meetings or other company sponsored or mandated meetings as required

- 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification experience in a health care setting, preferred
- Emergency Department registration experience, strongly preferred

Assists Community First Health Plan (CFHP) members regain optimum health or improved functional capacity by ensuring that members have access to all of the health care services they need in the most efficient and effective manner possible. Responsibilities include but are not limited to overseeing the allocation of resources, cost and quality of health care for members; coordinating care between the primary care physician, community resources, family and member; coordinating care across the health care continuum while monitoring and managing benefit utilization; and, collaborating with multi-disciplinary health care team members in identifying the educational and discharge needs of members.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Registered Nurse (RN) is required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master’s degree is preferred. Minimum three (3) years nursing, acute care, quality management or managed care experience is required. Basic knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, community resources and alternate funding programs is desired. Knowledge of InterQual screening criteria as well as DRG, ICD and CPT coding is preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse with the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners is required. Current certification from an appropriate professional agency, such as Case Management Society, is preferred.

The Clinical Affairs Manager will provide clinical expertise, insight, and support to clinical end-users, clinical sales specialists, sales team, Regulatory, Engineering, marketing, and other corporate departments on safe and effective use of the Teleflex Medical product portfolio with primary emphasis on the Coronary/Structural Heart franchise. This position will support the appropriate clinical application of the Coronary/Structural Heart franchise via didactic, web-based, and teleconference education, and understanding of these products and best practices. Clinical support will be provided to physicians, nurses, techs, etc., to include support for live cases/proctorships in the therapeutic areas related to focus products. The Clinical Affairs Manager will drive innovation by identifying product attributes necessary to expand into new markets, or capitalize on new clinical applications; identify new, clinically driven product and market opportunities; and perform other related duties as required. Provide support during society engagements, facilitating the exchange of scientific information in close collaboration with CMA leadership and the broader clinical affairs interventional team.

Serve as part of the CMA clinical expert team on product applications and troubleshooting when interfacing with SBU Leadership, Clinical Sales Specialists, and Teleflex team members. Participate as a clinical expert on project teams, committees, and in meetings with various corporate departments to provide guidance as to the clinical perspectives for the Coronary/Structural franchise. Build and support infrastructure for speaker programs supporting Teleflex Academy, webinars, training content, and programs. Coordinate and participate in content development and review of education material as needed by IA BU or CMA. Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in clinical, biology, health sciences, or engineering. Procedural experience within Interventional Cardiology and/or Structural Heart Possess a minimum of five years' clinical exposure in the medical field in the Cardiology environment. Medical Device industry supporting Clinical and Medical Affairs, strongly preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required; SalesForce experience preferred.
