• Peri-labor analgesia/anesthesia services are provided for approximately 3,000 deliveries per year. Acute pain services, utilizing regional anesthesia techniques, is an integral part of our perioperative care. Most surgeries would be considered bread and butter cases.
There are no Cardiac, Trauma, Neuro, or Pediatric (under 14 years) cases. In addition to perioperative services, our group of providers assist in out-of-OR care with cardiac exams, GI endoscopy, airway assistance, and central line placement.

Contra Costa Health is looking for Dentists who will provide patient-centered, quality dental care to our diverse patient population in Detention Health. We have four adult and juvenile County jail facilities with a multidisciplinary team. Dentists will be responsible for the following:
- Oral evaluations of patients, including use of dental radiographs to diagnose dental pathology
- Simple periodontal dentistry: gross scaling, prophylaxis
- Palliative treatment
- Restorative dentistry: fillings
- Prosthodontics: complete and partial dentures
- Oral surgery: extractions (referral to Oral Surgeon, when applicable)
Dentists will engage in effective working relationship and provide clinical direction and supervision to dental assistants to ensure proper implementation of infection control in accordance with OSHA and department policies; chairside assisting; dental radiograph procedures; and other critical support functions (i.e. maintaining equipment, inventory, record management and maintaining security of working areas, including daily instrument control.)
Dentists will document inpatient dental records, in accordance with the Dental Practice Act, department policies and procedures. Documentation will include procedures performed, dental material used, including type and amount of anesthesia used, outcome, post-operative care instructions and medication(s) prescribed, if applicable.
Dentists will also engage in weekly and monthly meetings with colleagues, staff and the Medical Director to discuss cases, concerns and resolutions to any issues. In addition, Dentists will attend in-service training to comply with policies and procedures of both Contra Costa County and Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff.
Requirements:
- Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of dentistry in the State of California as determined by the California Board of Dental Examiners.
