Position Description:

The OR Nurse functions as Circulator/Scrub Nurse in the Operating Room. Organizes and administers individualized, professional patient care to patients within the Operating Room. Provides nursing care in accordance with the objectives, policies, procedures and protocols of the hospital and AORN, ASPAN and SGNA standards. Participates in patient teaching; incorporates the needs and behavior of the patient’s specific age/cultural groups in planning and providing care. Participates in quality improvement activities.

These specialties include general surgery, ear, nose, and throat (ENT), colorectal, oral maxillofacial, trauma, transplant, vascular access, bariatrics, urology, gynecology, thoracic, and robotics. The Core OR team is also responsible for ensuring 24/7 operating room coverage, offering staff a range of alternative scheduling options. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews OASIS assessments for accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance, providing recommendations to ensure quality and reliability.

Guides staff on clinical, documentation, and utilization decisions to improve OASIS accuracy and care quality, recommending cost-effective corrections that support clinical and operational goals.

Reviews visit utilization for appropriate patient care, collaborates and consults clinicians on needed adjustments, and reports utilization concerns and financial risks to the clinical manager. Ensures timely completion of HCHB workflows and maintains a flexible schedule to support agency needs.

Collaborates to identify documentation trends, supports improvement planning, participates in quality initiatives, and helps ensure compliance and accurate data submissions across all settings.

Degree from an accredited educational program leading to licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Physical Therapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). Required

Bachelor's degree in nursing, master's degree in PT, OT, SLP preferred

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cardiac Rehab RN supervises medically prescribed exercise therapy appropriate to the patient’s age, medical and emotional/mental status. The RN provides education classes, concentrating on client’s understanding of the cardiovascular system and heart-healthy lifestyle modifications necessary to maintain optimum health. The RN is responsible for orientation of cardiac and pulmonary patients and participating in Quality Improvement and KPIs. The RN will participate in the operational duties of the department, such as but not limited to:  Policy and Procedure maintenance, revising and development of billing, gathering of statistical data, developing departmental educational opportunities and participating in the on-going growth and maintenance of the excellent customer services provided to all that ECHN serves.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

Position includes recovering patients from anesthesia as well as managing postoperative care, including recovery from general anesthesia, regional anesthesia and IV sedation. We are a 28 bed PACU, providing service to a variety of surgical services, such as general surgery, urology, gynecology, neurosurgery including spine surgery, plastic surgery, thoracic and vascular surgery, cardiac procedures (TAVR), bariatric surgery, colorectal surgery, ENT and OMF surgery. Also included is managing the recovery of GI advanced procedure patients as well as outpatient colonoscopy and endoscopy patients.  We are a fast paced unit receiving patients from 40+ operating rooms and we provide service 24/7.  ICU experience is preferred although we will consider nurses with ED, Step-down and floor level experience on an individual basis.  ACLS certification is required for external candidates as we frequently care for ICU and step-down patients. POSITION SUMMARY/PURPOSE

Practitioners are responsible for providing physical exams, psychiatric evaluations and addiction treatment including: diagnosis; prescribing; coordination of care, and patient education. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1.   Evaluate patients through detailed physical exam,  a full review of psychosocial comprehensive assessments, and development of a detailed medical history.

2.   Orders/performs appropriate laboratory diagnostic and other screening tests.  Seeks other information as needed, including consultation with primary care physicians and medical specialists.

3.   In collaboration with clinical and nursing staff, develops and implements a treatment plan that involves and includes the patient in active participation in treatment. And revises the plan as indicated.

4.   Writes orders for  medications, treatments and other matters pertaining to patients care.

5.   Writes progress notes on patient’s charts indicating patient status and treatment recommended.

6.   Provides education to individuals or groups as appropriate and requested by the Medical Director.

7.   Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients during examinations and provides emotional support to family members when appropriate.

8.   Charts observations, test results and all patient communication in the medical record as directed by Rushford policy and procedure.

9.   Ensures accurate maintenance of patient’s medical records and that patient records are treated as confidential information.

10.      Advises patients on use of various medication including dosage, side effects and composition.

11.      Reviews and interprets results of diagnostic studies and tests, consults with supervisory physician when appropriate, incorporates information into plan of care.

The Assistant Nursing manager is a Registered Nurse (RN) who has responsibility for the supervision of patient care, clinical personnel, and unit operations. • In exceptional circumstances, experienced candidates with an ASN/ADN currently in pursuit of a BSN or MSN may be considered.
