How You'll Contribute:
This remote based Associate Legal Counsel position provides accurate and timely counsel to our sales and operations organizations to address and resolve legal issues, supporting commercial transactions and customer management. The successful candidate must have the ability to deal with complex matters while operating in a fast-paced environment, providing effective and practical counsel on a variety of commercial transactional legal matters.
What You'll Do:
- The job responsibilities of the Associate Legal Counsel include:
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including domestic and international product and services agreements, vendor/dealer agreements, and strategic relationship agreements.
- Provide legal advice on intellectual property issues, data protection, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with the sales and operations teams providing contract interpretation and support understanding and addressing legal and business concerns associated with commercial transactions.
- Execute and maintain the company's business and contractor licenses, ensuring compliance and tracking renewals when and if needed as a backup on this task.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of operational internal governance policies and authorities.
- Provide legal support to purchasing, sales, finance, and various internal departments with a variety of legal matters ranging from subcontractor disputes, vendor related issues, and process improvement initiatives.
- Support collection efforts.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing and filing immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documents for employment-based and humanitarian immigration cases (e.g., adjustment of status, asylum, visas, waivers).
- Conduct legal research on immigration laws, policies, and regulations.
- Draft correspondence to clients, USCIS, and other agencies.
- Communicate with clients to gather information and documents, answer basic case-related questions, and provide status updates.
- Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are properly filed and deadlines are tracked.
- Liaise with government agencies
- Monitor changes in immigration laws and update internal processes accordingly.
- Prepare exhibits, forms, and evidence packets for submission.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or paralegal certificate (required); bachelor's degree in a related field (preferred).
- Prior experience working in an immigration law firm (minimum 1-2 years preferred).
- Strong understanding of immigration processes, including family-based petitions, employment visas, and deportation defense.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and case management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs
- Conduct depositions and argue motions
- Assist with hearings, mediations, and trials
- Represent businesses and individuals in commercial and employment related litigation disputes
- Litigate restrictive covenant matters and intellectual property matters
- Handle disputes involving data breaches, privacy issues, and technology-related claims, as well as shareholder, member, and partnership conflicts
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Admitted to practice law in the state of New Jersey
- A minimum of three yearsβ experience of litigation, preferably in commercial, employment, or complex business disputes
- Experience managing discovery, motion practice, and client communications
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
- Judicial clerkship experience is preferred
