Corporate & Transactional Practice | Kansas City, MO or St. Louis, MO
A national law firm is seeking a mid-level Associate (4+ years) with experience in employee benefits and executive compensation to join its Corporate & Transactional Practice in Kansas City or St. Louis.
This role focuses on advising clients on employee benefit plans, executive compensation arrangements, and benefits-related matters in corporate transactions, particularly mergers and acquisitions. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced practitioners in a collaborative and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze employee benefit plans and compensation arrangements in connection with M&A and other corporate transactions
- Assist with the design, implementation, and ongoing advising of employee benefits and executive compensation programs
- Draft and review benefits-related agreements and corporate documentation
- Manage multiple legal matters simultaneously from inception through completion
- Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and internal teams
- Work independently while collaborating with colleagues to deliver high-quality client service
- Support business development and client relationship efforts
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.)
- 4+ years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation
- Experience advising on benefits matters in M&A transactions

- Licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- Prior law firm experience preferred

In this role you will lead a distributed team of Software Quality Engineers supporting mission-critical aerospace and defense programs. You will align SQE priorities with program needs across St. Louis, Huntington Beach, and Fairfax, partner with Business Unit leads to define workload and technical expectations, and drive improved SQE engagement and software quality practices across the organization.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of Software Quality Engineers supporting multiple BDS programs; own hiring, performance development, and career progression.
- Translate program technical and contractual requirements into SQE priorities and deliverables; align SQE execution with program schedules and budgets.
- Define and implement SQE processes, checklists, and metrics to verify software compliance, reliability, and safety on assigned programs.
- Provide approval and oversight of technical approaches, software verification strategies, and software quality artifacts.
- Coordinate supplier SQE activities; provide technical direction and assess supplier deliverables for quality and conformance.
- Identify and drive continuous process improvements (root-cause analysis, lessons learned, defect reduction).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 5+ years of experience supporting software development programs, including hands-on experience with software verification, reviews, or testing
- 1+ year of experience leading technical teams (people management, mentoring, performance management)
- 1+ year of proven ability working with program leadership to prioritize and resolve technical quality issues
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Active U.S. security clearance
- Experience with safety-critical development standards (e.g., DO-178B/C or equivalent).

- Background in Software Quality Engineering practices (test strategy, test automation, static analysis, code reviews)
- Familiarity with DevSecOps tooling and secure software development lifecycle (SAST/DAST, automated builds, artifact management)

- This is a 40 hour per week Community Outreach Case Worker position
- You will assist clients by linking them to community resources, such as housing and food assistance
- You will work out in the communities with clients daily (you do not work inside the agency location)
