Removes burrs and sharp edges or excess material from metal components including contouring certain edges and features.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Removes excess metal and surface defects from aerospace hardware or machined surfaces using pneumatic or hand held abrasive wheels or belted grinding equipment.
- Uses abrasive belt or wheel according to customer specifications or type of finish specified, product being polished, or amount of metal to be removed, using knowledge of polishing operations and abrasives. Monitors abrasive wheel or belt for wear.
- Operates polisher, grinder, or deburring tools and removes metal and surface defects or contours edges of components based on specifications of blue-prints or work instructions.
- Inspects work for acceptability of finish. Moves finished components to next work station for further processing.
- Performs other work as assigned by the supervisor.
Position Requirements
- Ability to lift or transfer components or objects of no more than 50 pounds.
- Understand and follow written and oral instructions in English and possess basic mathematical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and assist in tooling and process development.
- Considerable ability to use a variety of hand and pneumatic tools.
- Ability to use precision hand held measuring devices, i.e., micrometer, vernier, go/no-go gauges, etc.
- Ability to use fine motor skills to manipulate small tools and perform meticulous work to close tolerances.
- Proficiently interacts with other employees and possess good interpersonal skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Set-up and operate Horizontal and Vertical CNC Lathes with Fanuc controls according to engineering specifications, instructions, GD&T and operation sheets. Knowledge of manual machines is a plus.
- Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures and tool holders for a given job.
- Run similar jobs of short cycle times for extended periods of time where manufacturing processes are stable and do not require frequent change.
- Read and interpret engineering instructions, travelers, and blueprints and be familiar with geometric tolerances and principles.
- Operate more than one machine at a time, one to two machines depending on the nature of the job and its complexity, occasionally operating more than two machines depending on operator skill and familiarity with a given job.
- Must perform routine maintenance on assigned production equipment, i.e., maintain cleanliness of work area and machinery, check machinery fluids and alert maintenance personnel and/or supervisor of malfunctions.
Operate lifting and handling equipment such as hand truck, pallet jack, or overhead hoist to maneuver in-process or finished components to desired location.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledgeable of in-process inspection techniques, standards, and requirements. Able to use and interpret precision measuring devices such as micrometers, verniers, and various hand tools, i.e., gauges to verify the accuracy of dimensional characteristics of components.
- Knowledge of metal characteristics in a production setting is desirable.
- Knowledge of programming code, canned cycles, threading & boring jaws and makes program edits.
- Machinists must have good verbal and written communication skills; good math skills and good interpersonal skills. Must work well with colleagues, supervision and management.

Overview:
The Area EHS Manager is responsible for the coordination and administration of Safety programs activities and projects to support business objectives. He/She will partner with Project Managers and Superintendents to ensure they focus on the elements of key risk with respect to EHS. He/She must provide day-to-day guidance to local management and staff in the continued building of a strong culture of safety.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure environmental, health & safety standards are met by coordinating, promoting and conducting various programs within the Liberty EHS management system.
- Support a strong safety culture by reviewing activities and verifying company safety standards, policies and procedures are being complied with.
- Operate independently and provide honest and objective feedback immediately to management where non-compliance with standards, policies and procedures is observed.
- Work closely with site leadership to coordinate training and development program for the employees.
- Grow organizational competencies by providing advice, training and counsel in areas of EHS.
- Advising local operations regarding compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA and local safety and health regulations.
- Performs administrative tasks related to project specific safety binder and document storage systems.
- Coordinates, schedules, and facilitates Trade Partnerβs Pre-Construction Safety Planning Meetings.
- Reviews trade partner Site Specific Safety Programs and Job Hazard Analysis prior to subcontractor mobilization.
- Attends/leads Toolbox Talks conducted by trade partners to assure documentation and quality.
- Reviews documentation from subcontractors for the proper training of their employees as related to the scope of work.
- Conducts training for OSHA 10 or 30 Hour, HAZWOPER, and other Safety related topics.
- Other duties as assigned by the Regional Director or Senior Safety Manager
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years self-perform commercial construction experience.
- Self-perform concrete experience.
- Bachelor's/University Degree in Health & Safety, Construction Management or equivalent experience and certifications
- Travel Requirements: 25%-50% (Western MA, Northwestern CT)
- Licenses/Certifications: Driverβs License
- Technical Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, OSHA 30/40 hour
- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Ability to work weekends as needed
- Ability to work flexible schedules in order to coordinate with operations
Working Conditions:
