GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides executive leadership for physician services throughout Henry Ford Jackson Hospital and campus (HFJH). Acts as a champion for enhancing the quality of care, comprehensive health care delivery, and patient safety while exceeding patients' expectations of the overall care experience. Serves as a medical executive and partner to senior leadership and medical staff leaders throughout Henry Ford Health to provide strategic direction in the areas of medical staff engagement, including but not limited to, medical staff development, physician alignment, succession planning, accreditation, models for collaboration and acts as a clinical resource to various system service line leaders. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Acts as a Medical executive and partners with the Hospital President and the West Region CMO, to oversee the development and achievement of strategic directions, goals, and objectives for medical staff development, engagement, and programmatic services consistent with Henry Ford Health strategy. Serves as a role model for interdisciplinary, collaborative care improvement and delivery with senior leadership.
• Facilitates and provides leadership to support the strategic direction of the West Region CMO to promote and advance physician alignment, engagement, leadership development, and succession planning.
• Supports HFJH in the selection, development, and continuity of medical staff recruitment in such areas as: graduate medical education, research and continuing medical education and clinical leadership orientation, and professional development activities.
• Understands the dynamics and challenges involved in the evolution of the health care delivery system, raises issues and fosters dialogue about emerging views between and among health care providers and administrators. Works closely with System administrative and clinical leadership to fulfill their quality, safety and patient care experience accountabilities.
• In conjunction with Performance Improvement, Quality, Safety and Clinical Operations, oversees the development and achievement of local clinical outcome indicators and care management improvement strategies and tactics. Promotes collaboration and innovation in clinical service programs to ensure an interdisciplinary approach to continuously improving the delivery of health care, focused on the quality of patient care and patient safety.
• Understands and works in conjunction with Performance Improvement, Quality, Safety and Clinical Operations, promotes continuous quality improvement through process redesign and re-engineering, leading key teams as appropriate, to enhance the quality and delivery of services. • Participates within the West Market region in the selection/hiring process, goal setting, performance management, development, and succession planning.
• Participates in various external forums and serves as a representative of HFSJH on the national front applying clinical experience and research in patient care improvement to leverage grant funding, national policy, etc.
• Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Henry Ford Health Compliance Program, Standards of Conduct, ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• To be successful in this position, the incumbent should be a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Osteopathy (D.O.), board certified in a clinical specialty. Advanced formal training in public health or administration preferred.
• The incumbent must have seven to ten (7 - 10) or more years of successful clinical practice and five (5) or more years of successful executive leadership experience, including responsibility for fiscal and medical staff management. 
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of trends in health care, including physician-hospital relationships, physician practice models, access issues, inpatient and ED throughput, quality improvement processes, clinical information systems, and the implications of the changing health care environment for medical credentialing are essential.
• Exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills required to initiate and develop productive working partnerships with all levels of management/leadership and staff. As part of exciting development, Henry Ford Health has launched the growth of its Pediatric services. The vision includes expansion of the inpatient footprint and development of all Pediatric subspecialties. Henry Ford Health Pediatrics is a systems Department and has an inpatient presence at its West Bloomfield Hospital, Macomb Hospital and Henry Ford Hospital. Henry Ford has recently had a merger with Ascension South East Michigan and now has a larger pediatric footprint with Henry Ford St John’s Children’s Hospital. The flagship campus, downtown is the location of a 3 billion dollar major investment for the system with its ‘Destination Grand’. With major expansion of the new academic medical center at Henry Ford Hospital, we are joining forces with Shirley Ryan Ability Lab to create a new inpatient rehabilitation hospital within our new patient tower. Level 3 and level 2 NICU care is provided by a very strong team of neonatologists and the inpatient services are supported by a robust hospitalist group. The Department receives medical students and residents from Michigan State University as well as Wayne State University and participates in academic development and research with both entities. A Pediatric Residency Program with 27 residents exists out of Henry Ford St John’s Hospital.

The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology is an integral and foundational specialty. With several centers of excellence in IBD, Nutrition, Celiac, Hepatobiliary and Pancreas, Airway, EOE and Food Allergy, Neurogastroenterology, Advanced Feeding, to name a few. With extremely robust Adult GI and Hepatology/Transplant support, Transition programs and the development of multi-disciplinary clinical and research collaboration is also in progress. General endoscopic procedures are done at several fully equipped endoscopy suites with opportunity for advanced procedures as well.

Corewell Health Children’s seeks a BE/BC Adolescent Medicine physician to join Corewell Health Hough Center for Adolescent Health. The practice has a longstanding history of excellence in the community putting patients’ safety and satisfaction at the forefront. Children’s Hospital is looking for an Adolescent Medicine Physician to provide care for adolescent and young medicine including primary care and prevention, mental health, reproductive health, eating disorders, and substance use disorder. Patient care will be done in an outpatient setting. Corewell Health Hough Center for Adolescent Health specializes in eating disorders with specialty care for adolescents facing a variety of concerns. The eating disorder program addresses medical and psychological management related to known or suspected eating disorders.

Our team is composed of one Physicians, two APPs, and a social worker with knowledgeable multi-disciplinary approach assisting in day-to-day operations and takes advantage the resources and referral base of the Corewell Health Children’s system. We are actively recruiting additional team members including an adolescent psychiatrist/psychologist.

The practice is located in a premium location and includes a designated waiting area, multiple exams rooms and a procedure room with state of the art equipment.?The candidate will also participate in teaching and have research opportunities in our ACGME accredited OBGYN residency.

Qualifications -   

• Must have completed or is currently completing a Urogynecology/Female Pelvic Medicine?fellowship program.
• Must be BE or BC.
