As a Hardware Test Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a key part of the Hardware Test team. This is a small team of broadly experienced engineers that strive to ensure that all hardware being produced meets the stringent requirements for aviation. Hardware Test Engineers are one of the essential interfaces between the design, production, and flight test teams and are exposed to a wide variety of technical challenges.

You will be creating automated test stands to replicate extreme flight conditions on our hardware and mechanisms that will serve as the backbone of our qualification testing. You will help to break our development hardware, help root-cause the failure modes, and provide critical input in redesigning it. You will be writing the software and building the hardware platforms for the command, control and data collection systems that will test our systems to rigorous aerospace standards.

Responsibilities

• Full ownership of the design, build, and maintenance of mechanical or electrical test stands for development testing, production acceptance testing, functional and environmental qualification testing

• Automate the repetitive aspects of the test stands

• Author, execute, and audit test plans, procedures, and reports

• Work closely with design engineers and flight test engineers to design, build, test and improve flight hardware

Basic Success Criteria

• B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience

• 1+ year of industry experience testing hardware

• Experience using ECAD tools such as Altium or MCAD tools such as NX

• Comfort with basic software scripting in Python, C/C++, or MATLAB

• Working understanding of mechanical or electrical engineering fundamentals

• Eagerness for hands-on work - integration of sensors, building test fixtures, diagnosing and debugging equipment and hardware

• Ability to methodically diagnose, document, and solve hardware problems

• A demonstrated passion for mechanical, electrical, or electromechanical hardware

Preferred Criteria

• 2+ years experience in aerospace hardware test planning and execution

• Experience working on and around aircraft

• Knowledge of aerospace qualification testing standards (MIL-STD-810, RTCA DO-160, or similar) and the aircraft certification process

• Experience reviewing technical designs and working from drawings, schematics, layouts, assembly/procedures, master parts lists, and other controlled documentation

• Familiarity with test instrumentation and data collection methods such as NI DAQ, UEI DAQ, LabJack, etc.

• Working understanding of measurement and data analysis; ability to clearly present technical data and state its limitations

As a member of our team, you will be a pivotal contributor to the development of novel hardware that will transform the future of flight. As a Sr. Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer at Reliable Robotics, you will be a part of the Flight Test and Integration team. The Flight Test and Integration team is responsible for multiple installation and test efforts at Reliable Robotics. The team regularly ensures the proper function of mechanical, electrical, and flight control systems onboard the aircraft. In addition, this team has ownership over all ground and flight test operations within the organization. The team is composed of individuals familiar with experience developing experimental and certification products.

Responsibilities

In your role as Sr. Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer, you will assist in the design and installation of modified flight control systems, throughout the development of a remotely operated autoflight system. You will ensure the proper build-up of functions and capabilities, beginning in the lab and ending on the vehicle. You will be expected to verify the end-to-end functionality of the system and ensure the ability to assess all desired test requirements. This will require engaging with many teams throughout the organization and having a firm understanding of the vehicle's capabilities. As part of the flight test campaigns, you'll act as the responsible engineer for the vehicle and often as test director.

As a Manufacturing Manager at Reliable Robotics, you'll be responsible for manufacturing capacity and throughput, factory development and layout, leading a team of engineers and technicians, and improving our manufacturing processes to meet design, regulatory, and business requirements (including safety, quality, cost, and on-time delivery). This is a growing team of highly motivated people passionate about delivering quality products and services on time, with unquestionable value. You will have overall accountability for the manufacturing output of a broad portfolio of products, including mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electrical/avionics assemblies. You will also be responsible for leading hiring activities, managing manufacturing layout, equipment maintenance, optimizing manufacturing flow, ensuring tooling and and working with engineering on design for excellence (DFx) improvements. They also handle workforce development, production scheduling, risk mitigation, and performance monitoring to meet production targets. You are responsible for establishing the standards by which this team would operate, and for transitioning the organization from a start-up into a disciplined manufacturing organization. The projects you work on will set the foundation for how the business operates for years to come. Responsibilities

• Responsible for building, testing, troubleshooting/diagnosing, inspecting, and maintaining Reliable-designed mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electrical/avionics assemblies, harnesses, and interconnects

• Lead, coach, and provide technical mentorship to a team of engineers and technicians; write bi-annual reviews and manage the team's performance

• Lead hiring, recruitment, and training for the technician team

• Lead efforts to transition our products from engineering development to production

• Ensure design for excellence (DFx) is communicated to the engineering and drive implementations across all manufacturing areas to improve cost, producibility, inspectability, consistency, adequacy, accuracy, and achieve conformance to requirements

• Responsible for maturing the manufacturing factory and layout, including optimizing material flow, factory equipment (e.g., tooling, inspection, test, etc.) maintenance, tooling, automation, and business system

• Monitor and communicate manufacturing status and risks, and establish key performance metrics to meet manufacturing targets

• Partner with design, engineering, supply chain, and other departments to synchronize project plans and ensure manufacturing can meet demand

• Develop and ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, quality management systems, and engineering change orders

• Develop processes to ensure accurate, current, and complete documentation (work instructions, inspections, tests, records, etc.) is utilized and maintained

• Ensure root-cause analysis is implemented and timely corrective actions are taken to maintain schedule, quality, and reliability

Basic Success Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or systems engineering

• 5+ years of manufacturing, design, and/or testing experience

• 3+ years of experience with computer-aided design (CAD) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software, such as Altium, NX, and Teamcenter

• Strong leadership, communication, team-building, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Success Criteria

• Experience with assembly, machining, fabrication, soldering, Electro-Static Discharge (ESD), Foreign Object Debris (FOD), and test methods

• Prior experience in troubleshooting, repairing, setting up, and operating complex hardware in a safety-critical environment

• Research and Development (R&D) or New Product Introduction (NPI) experience

• Experience with industry or regulatory requirements such as AS9100, CFR 14 CFR 21.137, and/or 14 CFR Part 145

• Previous leadership or management experience

How You'll Contribute:

• SDM will provide insight/reporting of onsite activities. Host Bi-weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) to present our SLAs, overall project(s) status, next quarter focus, areas that need attention.
  
  
• Develop ways for onsite team track metrics of the event production team in scheduling, forecasting, and reporting on capacity planning for both people and equipment requirements Identify needs and support creation of team structure as Services expands (supervisors, managers, team leads). Specific metrics such as number of meeting requests, break-fix cases and A/V room sweeps including client user survey comments are pulled from the client ticketing system and AV dashboards to show performance statistics for all Diversified AV technicians as well as all client sites with AV case requests globally.
