About the AISI Fellowship
The Boston Consulting Group’s AI Science Institute (AISI) is launching a postdoctoral fellowship program designed to empower the next generation of applied science leaders. This elite, industry-adjacent program offers PhDs and early-career scientists the opportunity to work on some of the world’s most complex and high-impact scientific problems using cutting-edge AI, in collaboration with top-tier partners across aerospace, healthcare, energy, and materials science.
Fellows will operate at the intersection of foundational research, real-world deployment, and strategic impact, helping shape breakthrough workstreams with AISI partners.
Unlike traditional academic or big-tech postdocs, AISI fellows work on problems where the science, the data, and the deployment context are all partially undefined. Fellows are expected not only to advance models or methods, but to shape problem formulation, data strategy, and downstream impact alongside senior scientists, engineers, and industry leaders.
What Youll Bring
- Lead or contribute to multi-disciplinary research initiatives that apply machine learning, simulation, optimization, or GenAI to real-world scientific domains.
- Collaborate with BCG X teams and external stakeholders, including scientists, engineers, business leaders, to frame and solve complex technical problems.
- Author internal and external research outputs, with opportunities to publish in top journals or co-develop IP with partners.
- Design reproducible, scalable workflows that translate state-of-the-art models into practical tools for discovery and experimentation.
- Serve as a scientific ambassador across AISI projects, bringing rigor, creativity, and a passion for impact.
- Engage directly, as appropriate, with client or partner R&D teams to translate research insights into deployable solutions, with support from senior BCG X leaders.
- Contribute to AISI priority research themes, which may include (illustrative, non-exhaustive):
- AI-accelerated materials discovery and optimization
- Scientific foundation models (biology, chemistry, climate, or physical systems)
- Simulation-augmented learning (e.g., physics-informed ML, RL + simulators)
- Compute-enabling technologies (chip design, process optimization, algorithm–hardware co-design)
- Quantum algorithms and hybrid classical–quantum workflows
Who Youll Work With
Program Details
- Duration: 24 months, with possibility of transition into full-time role at BCG X.
- Mentorship: Each fellow will be paired with a senior advisor and a technical/scientific lead from BCG X and a partner institution.
- Resources: Full access to BCG’s infrastructure, compute resources, research datasets, and partner ecosystems.
- Compensation: Competitive salary aligned with industry postdoc benchmarks, plus support for publishing, conference travel, and IP generation. Fellows are encouraged to publish in top-tier venues unless constrained by client confidentiality or strategic IP considerations; in such cases, alternative external-facing research outputs (e.g., methods papers, open-source tools, or delayed publications) will be supported.
What Success Looks Like
By Month 6
- Leading or co-leading a defined AISI research workstream
- Delivering models, methods, or code integrated into an active project
- Establishing a clear publication and/or IP trajectory identified
By Month 12
- Producing at least one external-facing research output, such as a paper, preprint, workshop, or open-source contribution.
- Being recognized internally as a go-to contributor in a priority scientific domain.
- Actively collaborating with at least one external partner or client R&D team.
By Month 24
- Delivering multiple high-quality research outputs and/or patented IP.
- Establishing a clear path to a permanent role at BCG X or strong placement into a top-tier industry or research position.

You must live within a reasonable commuting distance of your home office. As a member of that office, it is expected you will be in the office as directed. at the Tufts University School of Medicine.
The Clinical Director of Women’s Health and Longevity is a prestigious leadership role created to accelerate a major new institutional priority. Catalyzed by a generous gift from Linda, A16P, A18P, and Jeffrey Moslow, A86, A16P, A18P, Tufts Medicine in collaboration with Tufts University is launching a pioneering Women’s Health and Menopause Initiative aimed at transforming menopause care and advancing women’s health across the lifespan and educating the next generation of clinicians who will care for women during their life course.
This leader will guide a system-wide effort to elevate women’s health by advancing equitable, whole-person care; strengthening clinical innovation; and building educational and research programs that influence national standards.
The Clinical Director will collaborate closely with the Tufts University School of Medicine and Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy to create a holistic model of care that integrates medicine, nutrition, and science. By aligning education, research, advocacy and clinical practice within one connected academic and health system, Tufts is establishing a national model for how universities and health systems can redefine menopause and midlife care as a catalyst for prevention, innovation, and longevity—ensuring that every woman receives care grounded in evidence, compassion, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
As part of this initiative, the Women’s Health and Menopause Program will be based at Tufts Medical Center, Tuft University’s principal medical partner. Tufts Medicine Tufts Medical Center is located on the Boston Chinatown Health Science Campus. This holistic clinical program will be co-designed by leaders of this initiative and increase access to patients in Boston and beyond.
As the clinical, intellectual and strategic leader of this initiative, the endowed professor will drive research excellence, shape educational pathways, and elevate Tufts Medicine’s role as a national voice in women’s health and longevity.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Provide overarching vision and direction for the Women’s Health & Longevity Program across Tufts Medicine.
Develop and execute a cohesive strategic plan aligned with institutional priorities in clinical care, research, education, and community impact.
Build system-wide collaborations across Tufts Medicine hospitals, Tufts University schools, and external partners focused on advancing Women’s Health and Longevity care.
Clinical Excellence
Launch a Boston-based academic menopause program, built on a patient-centered care model that connects patients with specialists in nutrition, sexual health, cardiology, endocrinology, physical therapy, nutrition, and more.
Expand clinical access across Tufts Medicine’s network and through telehealth – serving women across Massachusetts, including the 70% of Tufts OBGYN patients covered by Medicaid.
Serve as a training ground for students and residents to learn evidence and team-based care in Perimenopause and Menopause.
Provide outstanding, evidence-based care in Women’s Health and Perimenopause and Menopause care.
Lead innovation in menopause care, midlife health, and women’s health across the lifespan.
Advance models of equitable, whole-person care that improve quality outcomes and reduce disparities.
Training & Education
Train the next generation of leaders in women’s health and menopause care through integrated medical curricula and advanced training programs across clinical disciplines, including Medical Students, PA students, Nutrition, etc.
Develop and lead new learning programs, specialized training pathways, and interdisciplinary educational initiatives.
Serve as a mentor to medical students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty.
Research & Innovation
Fuel high-impact research in women’s health, longevity, metabolism, and nutrition—including the development of a national outcomes registry that informs best practices.
Maintain a nationally competitive, extramurally funded research portfolio.
Foster interdisciplinary collaborations leveraging Tufts strengths in nutrition, public health, aging biology, and translational science.
National Leadership & Convenings
Lead national convenings and thought-leadership efforts that shape the future of women’s health and menopause care.
Develop and deliver continuing medical education (CME) programs and professional education initiatives for clinicians nationwide.
Position Tufts Medicine as a national voice in women’s health and longevity.
Program Development & Partnerships
Build external partnerships with community organizations, national collaborators, industry leaders, and government agencies.
Work closely with philanthropy teams to advance program growth and sustain long-term impact.
Represent the initiative and Tufts Medicine at regional and national forums.
Required Qualifications
MD, DO, PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent terminal degree.
Qualifications for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine.
Demonstrated excellence and national reputation in women’s health, menopause care, longevity science, or closely related domains.
A strong record of accomplishment in curriculum design and execution, health policy advocacy and research support.
Demonstrated commitment to health equity, inclusive excellence, and patient-centered care.
Preferred Qualifications
Leadership experience in building and directing clinical multidisciplinary programs that also foster education and research.
Experience with population health, community-engaged research, or large-scale clinical initiatives.
