The Pain Management Physician Assistant duties include but not limited to:

*Conduct thorough physical examination of patients presenting with pain-related concerns;

*Reviewing patient's medical history:

*Administer and monitor medication management for pain relief, following established protocols and guidelines;

*Consulting with other providers before deciding on a therapy or treatment program to help patients manage their pain;

*Using knowledge and pain management skills to find effective non-invasive treatment options;

*Performing joint injections;

* Provide patient education on pain management techniques, lifestyle modifications and self-care strategies;

*Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients;

*Stay updated with the latest advancements and research in the field of pain management through continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications:

* Active VA and/or MD license;

*Previous experience in the field of pain management is preferred;

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team at Innovative Urgent Care for Full Time, PRN, or part time coverage. Can have set schedule. 2-20 shifts per month available.

The APP will provide urgent care services to patients of all ages, ensuring high standards of care, diagnosis, and treatment. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background with Urgent Care or ER experience, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

• NP or PA will Perform comprehensive physical examinations, obtain patient histories, and document findings.
• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies.
• NP or PA will Prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate.
• NP or PA Provide preventive care, patient education, and health promotion.
• Nurse Practitioner or PA will provide minor surgical procedures and wound care.
• NP or PA will utilize telemedicine platforms to provide remote consultations and follow-up care.
• NP or PA will maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR).
• Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.

Position Objective:

Under the direction and supervision of the Lead Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner (APP), the Cardiac Surgery APP will perform all required clinical duties, including patient evaluation and management in the preoperative, postoperative, and outpatient settings as well as performing ICU bedside procedures (e.g. arterial line and central line insertion), endovascular vein harvesting, and first assisting cardiac surgical procedures (e.g. CABG, valve surgery, aorta surgery). .

• Works collaboratively with clinical teams in managing cardiac surgery patients in the pre-operative, peri-operative, post-operative, and outpatient environments.
• Collects data pertinent to the patient?s health and situation including interpreting diagnostic tests and procedures relevant to the patient?s status, and performs minor surgical procedures (such as vein harvesting).
• Formulate a treatment plan for Cardiac problems within scope of practice. Implement therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate. Exercise judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising Cardiac surgeon, or other health care professionals.
• Compares and contrasts clinical findings, normal and abnormal variations in formulating a diagnosis.
• Identifies assessment, diagnostic strategies, and therapeutic interventions within the plan that reflect current evidence, including data, research, literature and expert clinical knowledge; collaborates with physician on the plan as needed.
• Cares directly for clients and helps manage complex patients. Promotes patient engagement by explaining treatment plan, identifying and addressing any expected obstacles.
• Participates in the quality and patient satisfaction review process, incorporating feedback into improvement plans and associated quality forums. Uses quality data to enhance effectiveness of care delivery.
• Uses current health care research findings and other evidence to expand clinical knowledge, and enhance role performance and increase knowledge of professional issues
• Participates in group call duties, including night and weekend coverage.

Educational/Experience Requirements:

• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant School or graduate of an accredited school of nursing as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
• Six (6) years of related Cardiac Surgery clinical experience as a PA or ACNP.

Required License/Certifications:

• Current License as a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
