The Senior Director of Nursing Leadership Development is responsible for the development implementation and management of comprehensive integrated training strategies and programs for nurse leaders across MedStar Health entities. In this systemwide role the Senior Director partners with the Chief Nursing Officers System Nursing Leadership Team Organizational Learning and Capability Human Resources and Nursing Professional Development Leaders to ensure alignment with the changing healthcare landscape and System Nursing's strategic direction. The Senior Director leads the development of training programs that inspire and enhance the capacity of nurse leaders and position them for success. The Senior Director of Nursing leadership Development builds strong cross-functional relationships with key stakeholders internal and external to MedStar to understand strategic objectives and to identify learning priorities and needs. Develops and executes a comprehensive strategic learning plan for nurse leaders based on critical priorities and System Nursing goals. Identifies and implements leadership development methods to increase and sustain the capability and bench strength of nurse leaders systemwide.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Partners with the Chief Nursing Officers (CNOs) System Nursing Leadership Team Organizational Learning and Capability Human Resources and Nursing Professional Development Leaders to ensure consistency in the overall approach to learning development and support of nurse leaders' ongoing professional advancement objectives.Assumes leadership role in the planning development execution and evaluation of the MedStar Health system nursing leadership development strategy programs and curricula to support the nurse leader's role in high reliability and just culture quality and safety talent management and competency management. Facilitates formal and informal learning related to key educational initiatives (competency models diversity mentoring and so on). Understands when and how to acquire additional resources and/or subject matter experts as needed.Leads the system-level orientation and ongoing development programs for nurse leaders and facilitates their transition to the MedStar nursing practice environment. Ensures these programs meet the leadership competency assessment requirements in conformance with departmental objectives regulatory and accreditation standards. Establishes annual calendar of orientation programs in partnership with the CNOs and leaders from human resources and talent acquisitions departments. Provides leadership and oversight for the emerging nurse leaders training program and support nurses' transition to formal leadership roles. Convenes these emerging nurse leaders regularly and partners with entity-based CNOs and Nursing Professional Development Leaders on their continued development and mentoring.Leads the assessment activities of learning needs of nurse leaders through formal and informal approaches to data collection and reporting of findings to determine educational gaps and priorities Sets direction and manages the instructional design and development process. Uses innovative instructional design methodologies to create high-quality instructional materials and solutions (e.g. experiential challenge-based and action learning) to ensure successful nurse leader's performance. Sets direction and manages the instructional design and development process. Promotes critical thinking and evidence-based practice curricula incorporating principles of adult learning theory and innovation in both physical and virtual learning settings.Builds and sustains lasting relationships with Organizational Learning and Capability Human Resources and Nursing Professional Development Leaders to generate a deep understanding of organizational resources and initiatives. Develops key partnerships that enable successful learning program offerings and outcomes. Education
- Master's degree in Nursing Education Leadership Development Learning & Development or related field required

Unit Highlights
Join our dynamic PreOp and PACU team, where we are dedicated to providing exceptional care across a range of procedures. Our department specializes in orthopedic, general, spine, gynecological, urological, and gastroenterology procedures. We are also known for our total joint procedures and comprehensive bariatric program.
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will be integral to our pre-op, Phase 1, and Phase 2 recovery areas. Our nurses are cross trained in all these phases, allowing for a flexible and cohesive approach to patient care. You will collaborate closely with our anesthesia team, consisting of both MDs and CRNAs, to ensure the highest standard of care for our patients.

General Summary of Position
The Medical Assistant performs clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under the supervision of a physician/provider and/or a registered nurse. Duties may include venipuncture medication and vaccine administration measurement and documentation of vital signs and assisting providers with patient exams and telephone and clerical support. Position may float to other sites/locations within the system.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to department policies procedures quality and safety standards. Complies with governmental regulations and accreditation standards.
* Assists providers with patient preparation for the examination minor office procedures and with the examination and education of patients. Supports other members of the clinical care team assuring optimal best-practice patient flow; manages variable and unpredictable patient volume throughout the workday. Provides clerical support and serves as backup for the Patient Services Coordinator or other team members as needed.
* Participates in daily team huddles to review and prepare for scheduled patient visits. Screens all patients regardless of visit type for preventative care needs ongoing support barriers to care safety concerns and potential fall risk. Conducts surveillance for transitions of care urgent/emergent care or follow up tasks such as retrieval of documents associated with referrals/testing.
* Conducts motivational interviews that include patient screening and/or coaching on disease management ability motivation to change learning care needs and community outreach needs. Identifies potential behavioral health needs of patients using appropriate screening tools and notifies provider of findings.
* As part of a High-Reliability Organization reports actual and potential problems concerning patients families and associates using established reporting protocols for MedStar Health and/or work location. Participates in performance improvement initiatives to improve care quality and safety.
* Ensures ongoing compliance with regulatory accreditation and quality/safety standards by maintaining and auditing temperature logs ensuring medication supplies are current/unexpired checking and maintaining emergency equipment area free of clutter and other related tasks.
* Participates in population management activities including an awareness of the populations served and engages the patient in self-management support care/health goal setting pre-visit planning and the capturing of information that leads to health care improvement activities.
* Performs selected patient and laboratory testing consistent with the scope of the practice including but not limited to Point of Care Testing tuberculosis skin testing electrocardiography pulmonary function tests and vision and hearing testing (dependent upon provider and site requirements). Removes sutures/staples after the provider has examined the patient and written the appropriate order. Documents these activities in the patient's electronic medical record (EMR) or other venues based on policy.
* Documents clinically related activities accurately in the patient's EMR; performs required patient follow-up: to include pap smears Pb levels HIV mammograms and STD's. Collects and processes specimens completes requisitions and documents in logbook or other applicable forms/records.
* Provides escort for patients and assists with patient discharge activities. Provides chaperoning for patients per policy.
* Fulfills infection prevention and environmental responsibilities as assigned which many include: Light cleaning during clinic hours and cleaning of equipment. Updates appropriate records of scheduled equipment maintenance and manages drug and medical supply inventories.
* Provides telephone screening services to gather information from patients determine appropriate disposition and document per established telephone screening protocols.
* Under onsite provider supervision may insert intravenous catheter for physician initiated IV fluid therapy or administration of intravenous medications. Under direct onsite physician supervision may insert remove and monitor urinary catheter for procedures and prepare and administer oral drugs and injections limited to intradermal subcutaneous and intramuscular. May perform phlebotomy.
* Utilizes the EMR to propose patient medication refills for provider approval. Completes requisitions for tests (if applicable). Contacts insurance companies for Pre-authorizations for patient medications and specialty referrals including insurance authorization.
* Floats to other sites/locations within the system as appropriate and performs all duties at multiple sites.
* Attends scheduled meetings including but not limited to regular staff meetings and training classes for safety infection control OSHA CLIA BLS and others as required.
* Demonstrates behavior consistent with MedStar Health mission vision goals SPIRIT values objectives and patient care philosophy.
Minimal Qualifications
Education
* High School Diploma or GED required and
* Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
Experience
* Less than 1 year 6 months experience working in an ambulatory care medical office or equivalent required. Externship in a medical or ambulatory health setting strongly preferred. Completed externship program at medstar health may be substituted for the 6 months experience in ambulatory care medical office. required and
* For Cardiology offices only: 6 months experience working in an ambulatory care medical office or equivalent required or Bachelor's degree in exercise physiology/science or related major or successful completion of a cardiac technician course. preferred and
* Prior experience as a medical assistant preferred
Licenses and Certifications
* Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA by the American Association of Medical Assistants within 1 Year required or
* Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)-American Medical Technologists through American Medical Technologists or equivalent within 1 Year required
* CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required and
* Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit.

We are seeking a Licensed Physician to provide medical evaluations and treatment for adult and adolescent patients, in a Physical Therapy/Rehab setting. The MD will use their expertise in primary care to provide high quality health care and medical education to patients and collaborate with a highly skilled team of Clinician's to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
This is a local travel MD Position, providing coverage at 3 locations per week, as needed in the Hagerstown and Cumberland, MD areas, as well as coverage in Charles Town, WV on some days.

* MD will work with a diverse patient population, primarily General Orthopedics, Personal Injury and Workers Comp.
* MD will Instruct patients and families regarding treatment plans and medications.

* Work closely with Physical Therapists, and other clinic support staff.

Primary Duties:
Prepares patient for radiograph. Lifts patient onto and off examination table. Properly positions patient for X-ray exam, adjusts immobilization devices and affixes appropriate radiation shielding.
Assists in the administration of drugs and/or contrast agents. Calculates and selects proper technical factors and uses correct film/ screen combinations. Processes and develops film.
Enters data into the Radiology Information System (MARS) for medical records, billing, statistics, and quality assurance purposes. Provides guidance to radiology students as needed.
Maintains work area in a clean and orderly condition. Ensures that the exam room contains the proper supplies for the diagnostic procedures. Performs various clerical tasks including answering phones, relaying messages, and scheduling exams. etc.
Reports equipment malfunction to supervisory personnel.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in applied science preferred.
Previous job experience.
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) certification

Primary Duties:
Operates and documents all aspects of the Cath Lab including all procedures performed in the Cath Lab. Functions as a contributing member of the Interventional Radiology/Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory team, working in conjunction with Vascular surgeons, cardiologists, radiologists, registered nurses, and cardiovascular technologists. Provides the technical skills necessary to assist the physician in performing Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Catheterization procedures. Provides a safe environment for the patient during their Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Catheterization procedures. May function as a Scrub Assistant, ensuring maximum compliance to principles of aseptic/sterile technique by self and members of the team. Ensures adequate floor and room stock are available for imaging procedures. Assists in the recording, storing, retrieval and analyzing data obtained during the interventional cardiovascular procedures. Assists in monitoring patients. Including Hemodynamic data/ECG/Angiographic data. Recognition of changes of the above, documenting as necessary and reporting to physician and other team members in a time sensitive fashion. Assists with preparation of radiologic and other laboratory equipment to be used during the procedure while adhering to the principles of aseptic/sterile technique. Maintains and evaluates equipment, and troubleshoots equipment as needed. Responsible for the proper use and operation of all related interventional equipment. Properly positions patient for procedure and informs patient what to expect during the procedure as well as any instructions that the patient needs to follow. Participates in data collection and results reporting for ongoing quality improvement.
Maintains a clean, safe, prepared work environment. Prepares room for procedure. Cleans and sterilizes equipment and procedure table. Restocks and requests room supplies that have dwindled. Checks drug supplies and informs the appropriate person of what needs to be replenished.
Maintains current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Identifies learning needs in self and initiates actions to address these education needs. Attends continuing education programs to maintain certification. Attends hospital sponsored training programs as required by the department Completes all mandatory requirements, certifications, and licensure within allotted time for completion.
Works effectively within and between departments. Participates on inter-departmental teams and committees, communicating unit knowledge as appropriate Provides department/unit with information and knowledge acquired during participation with interdepartmental teams and committees. Demonstrates a constructive approach during all interactions with staff, supervisors, and managers both inside and outside the unit.
Assures that the appropriate sterile instruments are available Assures that all personnel have a dosimeter badge Creates quarterly exposure reports for the Radiation Safety Committee. Maintains records of yearly lead surveys. Maintains records of daily crash cart checks Responsible for precepting the new Cardiovascular Lab technologist Assists in establishing and maintaining product PAR counts Assists in communication with company representatives and procedural physicians for equipment availability, case scheduling, etc. Attends system-wide meetings and brings information back to department staff as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Vocational/Technical Diploma or associate degree in Radiology.
5-7 years' Cath Lab experience preferred.
ARRT license as Registered Radiation Technologist in Maryland.
CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) within 90 Days.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
