POSITION SUMMARY

The Legal Practice Assistant, working under the supervision of the Office Manager, provides a wide range of administrative, clerical, and document services to support the workflow and client service needs of attorneys and other timekeepers. Responsibilities

  • Receive assignments from multiple partners, effectively prioritize tasks, and manage multiple assignments simultaneously to meet deadlines.
  • Independently make court appearances and manage family law hearings on behalf of clients.
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively with paralegals, law clerks, fellow attorneys, and administrative staff.
  • Communicate clearly, skillfully, and discreetly with clients, Opposing Counsel, experts, consultants, etc.

Skills and Experience

  • Must be licensed to practice law in California and should have completed 1 to 7 years of licensed family law experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience with Xspouse, Clio, Lawyaw, and Lawgic is preferred.
  • Candidates must possess excellent research skills and comfort with numerous research tools (WestLaw, Attorney's Briefcase, online resources, and hardcover reference materials).
  • Candidate should possess excellent writing skills to draft motions, pleadings, letters, memos, and other legal documents.

Expected Hours of Work

  • Associates are expected to work during the firm's regular business hours, 5 days per week, and be available for additional work when required by case load.
