Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown unit position requiring a Michigan RN license and ONCC or ONS certification.
Details
- Work in a hospital stepdown environment serving general medicine and oncology stepdown patients
- Night shifts, 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
- Every other weekend required, with block scheduling potentially accommodated
- Float to other med surg areas, including AU and ER, to care for med surg patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:4-6, with support staff available if ratios increase
- Chemotherapy administered via IV and IV starts required
- Uses Welch Allyn vital sign towers and Sigma IV pumps
- EPIC is used for documentation
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license required
- BLS (AHA) and NIH certifications required
- ONCC or ONS certification required; pending ONS accepted but ONCC must be in hand
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Stepdown experience required
- Experience administering chemotherapy via IV required
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include administering chemo, starting IVs, and providing stepdown patient care
- No call requirements
- Float support available and charge RN generally not assigned to patient care
- Chemo admissions decrease patient assignment ratios
