As a Radiology Technologist, you will perform clinical and administrative duties in the MedStar Health Settings consistent with policies & procedures. Primary Duties:
  • Adheres to MedStar Health Code of Conduct and its Compliance plan; complies with governmental and accreditation guidelines, completing all scheduled training including, but not limited to, safety, infection control, OSHA, CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation), EMR (Electronic Medical Record), general compliance, harassment, and service. Cleans, stocks, and sterilizes equipment in addition to cleaning and preparing patient rooms for care delivery. Delivers patient care consistent with policy and with high regard for patient/ employee safety and quality of care.
  • Embraces new technology and use of the electronic health record. Manages patient flow with consistent and frequent communication with patients/family and genuine regard for their time and comfort. Performs other testing and care consistent with the scope of the MedStar Health practices including, but not limited to, spirometry/ PFTs, patient vitals and BMI, EKGs, vision and hearing test, splinting, and general patient care under the supervision of the medical provider. Performs patient follow up calls for lab tests, patient experience, and clinical results in accordance with policy and in a professional manner.
  • Performs venipuncture and selected patient and laboratory testing (point of care); initiates care pathways in accordance with policy. Performs x-rays in accordance with medical provider orders; forwards images to the appropriate radiologist for overreads; maintains x-ray equipment and adheres to safety standards. Promotes an atmosphere of respect toward patients, families, vendors, employers, and co-workers. Communicates professionally.
  • Provides care consistent with MedStar's mission, vision, and values and in a manner that engenders patient confidence and loyalty by exceeding expectations. Serves as a patient escort throughout the care process and assists in patient discharge, assuring clarity for the patient or family member(s). Supports new clinical and service initiatives; seeks opportunities to improve care and the patient experience.
  • Supports other members of the team during downtime or bottlenecks in patient processing. Understands and participates in basic computer and patient intake skills at the front desk. Supports the medical provider in patient examination, testing and education. Under medical provider supervision, prepares and administers oral medications and injections limited to intradermal, subcutaneous, and intramuscular after demonstrating competency to the Clinical Professional Development Specialist or designee.

DESCRIPTION The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) is seeking an Associate Project Manager (APM) to support major, multi-stakeholder research partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including biopharmaceutical companies, nonprofit healthcare organizations, government agencies, and academic scientists.

The APM will work closely with scientific and technical leads to support the day-to-day management and coordination of high-impact translational science research initiatives.

This is an early-career role for individuals with a strong scientific or research background who are interested in building a career in project and program management within public-private partnerships.

Job Functions
  • Perform all Special Procedures in strict accordance with currently approved practices as outlined in department policy and procedure manual and comply with all applicable federal, state, local and other regulatory requirements.
  • Controls the flow of patients within the section, in an efficient and timely fashion.
  • Utilizes supportive protective (i.e., radiation shielding) and immobilization devices as required for patient safety and comfort.
  • Communicate to the patient the nature of the procedure and answer questions clarifying the procedure for the patient.
  • Demonstrates practical application of age-related factors.
  • Assures patient rights and privacy are maintained.
  • Reports any significant problems related to patient, physicians, procedures, housekeeping, maintenance, supplies, or personnel to the Lead Technologist and/or Assistant Director.
  • Properly wear radiation monitoring devices.
  • Demonstrates competency in IV access and IV contrast administration.
  • Cares for patients while they are in Radiology Department by checking IV's, catheters, tubing airways, and patient monitoring equipment.
  • Utilize proper sterile techniques in setting up and performing interventional procedures
  • Performs reconstructions/3-D imaging and post procedure of images per protocol.
  • Maintains continuing education credits for ARRT licensure.
  • Demonstrates competency in operating the power injector in a safe manner per department protocol.
  • Works efficiently and performs all exams within allocated timeframe.
  • Properly enters charges for exams in RIS (Meditech) in a timely manner.
  • Takes call as assigned by Lead Technologist.
Education:
  • Graduate of an AMA approved program.
Experience:
  • Registered with ARRT. BLS certification through American Red Cross (AHA and military certifications accepted) upon hire.
Experience:
  • Ability to perform Special Procedures following accepted standards and protocols.

About this Job:

General Summary of Position
Oversees the operation of the Boilers and Chiller Plant and associated equipment ensuring the efficient operation during assigned shift. May be required to lead or assist with regular maintenance or emergency repairs to the boilers chillers and/or related equipment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees/monitors the operation of the Chiller Plant during assigned shift. Ensures the systems are operating at best possible performance levels.
  • Performs regular maintenance/repairs to the Chiller Plant such as appropriate during shift reporting larger/ more complicated needs to the Forman or Power Plant Engineer I for action by the maintenance crew.
  • Assists the maintenance/repair crew with scheduled and emergency repairs to the boilers generators chillers and related Facilities Management equipment.
  • Ensures that assigned areas are operating within all applicable Hospital federal and local governing codes standards and regulations including but not limited to: OSHA NFPA The Joint Commission and Fire and Life Safety practices.
  • Learns and remains current with the latest applicable federal and local governing codes standards and regulations regarding fire safety plumbing electrical and plant operations including but not limited to: OSHA NFPA The Joint Commission ASHRAE ANSI DCRA D.C. Fire & Safety Codes and the Hospital's Fire and Life Safety practices.

Minimal Qualifications
Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required or
  • Trade/vocational school graduate or equivalent with courses in chemistry physics and/or mathematics and such training as to be able to read: layout diagrams blueprints mechanical drawings work sketches etc. preferred

Experience

  • completion of an approved apprentice training program required

Licenses and Certifications

  • Must have a current D.C. Third Class Operating License required and
  • current CFC License. required
