  • PRN

  • Part-time Saturdays and Sundays 7:00am-7:30pm

As an MRI Technologist, you will perform diagnostic Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations according to established imaging protocols. Provides efficient and effective patient care in high-quality diagnostic MRI examinations. Provides high customer service, performing consistent with Hospital organization values.

Primary Duties: 

  • Conducts patient interviews to identify contraindicated implants, foreign bodies, and other medical conditions on concern. Identifies and performs appropriate examinations based on patient history.  

  • Verifies prescription and protocol. Uses appropriate imaging parameters. Injects contrast based on patient weight after verifying the patient’s renal function status. Verifies image quality prior to ending the examination.  

  • Appropriately documents examination. Verifies the examinations is correct in both Cerner, PACS, PenRad and DynaCAD (when applicable). Assists in organizing and maintaining inventory of supplies. Ensures the work area is maintained at a high state of cleanliness.  

  • Promptly prepares films and CDs upon request. Assists with protocol development and implementation. Assists with the training of new personnel and Radiology School students regarding procedures, imaging protocols and department policy.  

  • Collects quality control data for managers, such as film usage, equipment problems, etc. Completes all required information system functions to assure proper patient information, billing, examination, and other necessary functions. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Associate’s degree or one to three years, with formal training in an American Medical Association accredited school of Radiologic Technology/Magnetic Resonance Imaging. 

  • Job-related experience or Successful completion of a formal MRI educational training program. This will be waived for MedStar Washington Hospital Center Radiology School students that have rotated to MRI. 

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) MRI or ARMRIT (American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists) within 1 Year.  

  • BLS (Basic Life Support).

Minimal Qualifications
Education

  • Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited academic nursing program required

  • If prepared at the associate degree in nursing level required to enroll in a BSN program within 12 months of hire date and completion within 4 years of hire date.

Experience

  • 1-2 years RN experience required

Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the state or jurisdiction of the facility seeking employment required
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required

  • C-EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) is required for Perinatal nurses (labor and delivery antepartum antenatal testing) within 12 months from date of hire. Primary Duties:

* Assists providers with patient preparation, office procedures, examination and education of patients. Supports the clinical care team, assuring optimal best-practice patient flow; manages patient volume. Reviews and prepares for scheduled patient visits. Contacts insurance companies for Pre-authorizations for patient medications and specialty referrals including insurance authorization.

Qualifications:

* High School Diploma/ GED.

Primary Duties:

  • Operates and documents all aspects of the Cath Lab including all procedures performed in the Cath Lab.   • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).

Primary Duties:

  • Operates and documents all aspects of the Cath Lab including all procedures performed in the Cath Lab. Functions as a contributing member of the Interventional Radiology/Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory team, working in conjunction with Vascular surgeons, cardiologists, radiologists, registered nurses, and cardiovascular technologists. Provides the technical skills necessary to assist the physician in performing Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Catheterization procedures. Provides a safe environment for the patient during their Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Catheterization procedures. May function as a Scrub Assistant, ensuring maximum compliance to principles of aseptic/sterile technique by self and members of the team. Ensures adequate floor and room stock are available for imaging procedures. Assists in the recording, storing, retrieval and analyzing data obtained during the interventional cardiovascular procedures. Assists in monitoring patients. Including Hemodynamic data/ECG/Angiographic data. Recognition of changes of the above, documenting as necessary and reporting to physician and other team members in a time sensitive fashion. Assists with preparation of radiologic and other laboratory equipment to be used during the procedure while adhering to the principles of aseptic/sterile technique. Maintains and evaluates equipment, and troubleshoots equipment as needed. Responsible for the proper use and operation of all related interventional equipment. Properly positions patient for procedure and informs patient what to expect during the procedure as well as any instructions that the patient needs to follow. Participates in data collection and results reporting for ongoing quality improvement.

  • Maintains a clean, safe, prepared work environment. Prepares room for procedure. Cleans and sterilizes equipment and procedure table. Restocks and requests room supplies that have dwindled. Checks drug supplies and informs the appropriate person of what needs to be replenished.

  • Maintains current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Identifies learning needs in self and initiates actions to address these education needs. Attends continuing education programs to maintain certification. Attends hospital sponsored training programs as required by the department Completes all mandatory requirements, certifications, and licensure within allotted time for completion.
