Job DescriptionThis is a unique opportunity for an experienced organization leader that is an entrepreneurial, highly driven, demonstrated meteorology expert with a well-rounded skill set and breadth of operational and administrative experience, thick skin, highly confident, and self-motivated professional whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional meteorologists.
This job is in the United States, with strong focus on leadership and business-building in the Northeast US. A qualified candidate will reside in the United States (ideally in the Northeast US) and be intimately familiar with, operationally (and demonstrably) experienced with an extensive range weather conditions, including tropical cyclones, flood events, storm surge, hail, thunderstorms, downbursts, squall lines, blizzards, snow, ice, tornadoes, extreme temperatures, and alike, as well as a deep understanding of North America and global weather patterns and have a working familiarity with global geography, customs, and culture. This job will require frequent interaction and collaboration with experts in other professions.
The candidate must be a team leader and have a proven track record of performing high-quality work with little supervision, "taking the bull by the horns", effectively launching and growing business initiatives, leading team members, producing and maintaining accurate budgets, and be able to communicate confidently and effectively in critical situations.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science (physics/calculus‐based program preferred). Advanced study in business (MBA, leadership, management certificate) is a strong plus.
- An active Certified Consulting Meteorologist (CCM) designation from the American Meteorological Society.
- 10+ years of operational meteorology with demonstrated growth in scope and leadership.
- 3+ years leading, managing, and mentoring team members.
- Significant operational experience in at least five (5) of the following domains:
- Tropical Cyclones (including accompanying severe weather, such as tornadoes and flooding/storm surge)
- Severe Thunderstorms (Hail/Wind/Tornadoes)
- Non-Convective Windstorms
- Mountain Meteorology
- Energy Meteorology (including Renewable Energy)
- Wildfire Weather
- Winter Weather (Snow/Ice)
- Heavy Rainfall and/or Flooding
- Marine Meteorology
- Aviation Meteorology
- Air Quality Meteorology
- Exceptional technical writing skills with a record of high‐quality scientific reports/publications

Preferred Qualifications
- Residency in the Northeast United States
- Prior forensic meteorology experience, investigative research, and/or authored publications pertaining to weather events impacting to the insurance industry, such as severe convective storms, tropical cyclones, flooding/rainfall, or similar.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $125,000 - $145,000 per year. Any offered salary range is based on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, training, location, the scope of the role, management responsibility, etc.

KBR is seeking a Sr. Principal Operations Research Analyst to join a multi-disciplinary team consisting of operational military and intelligence subject matter experts (SMEs), operations research analysts, modelers, and software engineers who conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of emerging concepts for the Defense Advanced Projects Research Agency (DARPA) using advanced MS&A techniques and tools. The selected candidate will:
- Lead or support the conduct of studies for senior-level military decision makers, technology developers, and acquisition professionals for use in CONOPS development, force structure design, resource allocation, and targeted technology insertion.
- Develop and execute an experiment design approach, identify key metrics for simulation output, analyze results, generate insights and information, and present findings to senior DoD leaders.
- Develop and/or refine an analytic pipeline; interact with third-party software developers to incorporate this analytic pipeline into the modeling & simulation (M&S) tool.
- Conduct pre- and post-simulation analyses as needed.
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain analytic dashboard prototypes for incorporation into the MS&A software suite.

About the Opportunity
As a Test Security Specialist focused on AP Investigations, you will lead investigations into AP test
security incidents and score validity concerns. You will manage cases end to end by reviewing and
synthesizing evidence such as statistical indicators, test day reports, plagiarism findings, AI-related
reports, and any available supporting documentation or physical evidence. You will apply Client
policies and legal requirements to reach clear, well-supported determinations, including whether
evidence supports score cancellation.
You will also communicate professionally with students, parents, and student representatives, including attorneys, counselors, and educators, to ensure timely case resolution and consistent, accurate policy explanation. This role requires strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive situations with fairness and discretion.
In this role, you will:
Case Management (65%)
• Own AP investigation cases end to end from intake through final determination and closure,
ensuring each case is handled thoroughly, consistently, and within required timelines.
• Triage and scope cases by identifying allegation type, applicable policy, key evidence needs, and
any immediate risks or deadlines.
• Collect, review, and synthesize evidence including statistical indicators, test day
documentation, proctor and coordinator reports, seating and timing details (when available),
plagiarism findings, AI-related reports, and any supporting materials submitted by stakeholders.
• Analyze patterns and irregularities using investigative reasoning and data review techniques to
determine whether observed signals are consistent with policy-defined misconduct or score
validity concerns.
• Document investigative work clearly and completely in the case management system, including
evidence summaries, rationale, decision points, and recommended outcomes, to ensure audit?ready and defensible case files.
• Develop case recommendations that align to policy and evidentiary standards, and collaborate
with team leads and peers as needed on complex or high-risk determinations.
• Coordinate cross-functional work with internal partners and external vendors to obtain
