St. Louis law firm seeks a litigation Legal Administrative Assistant. Under the leadership of the Legal Support Services Manager, this position will be the vital link between attorneys, clients, and the support staff at our firm. You'll craft legal documents, engage with clients, and maintain seamless collaboration across the office, ensuring deadlines are met and confidentiality is upheld. This position requires an ability to work with legal documents and familiarity with State, Federal and Appellate filings, including knowledge of, or ability to learn E-Filing. After an initial period of training, this position is eligible for a hybrid-remote work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supports multiple attorneys in assigned practice area(s) and legal support teams in the preparation of client legal documents.
  • Plans, produces, edits and formats correspondence, memoranda, pleadings, reports and other legal documents in a timely manner while utilizing computer, transcription equipment and other office equipment.
  • Professionally manages incoming calls in a courteous and timely manner and provides client assistance when needed.
  • Establishes and maintains calendar and deadline reminder systems, utilizing Firm's centralized docketing and calendar system.
  • Requests conflict of interest reports with File Opening/Conflicts, opens new clients and/or matters, and maintains all client and general files. Conducts periodic review for possible storage of older files and prepares files to be closed.
  • Manages attorney calendars, schedules appointments and coordinates travel arrangements.
  • Ensures attorney timesheets are entered and released in a timely manner. Reviews, proofs, edits and processes client billing statements.
  • Collaborates with administrative support staff (document production, receptionists, business office, etc.), proofs documents returned from document production.

Experience and Education Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required. An Associate Degree is preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of litigation legal experience required; three (3) to five (5) years preferred.

Division 7800 ICU is an Oncology designated 25-bed Intensive Care Unit. 10 beds designated to our oncology and bone marrow transplant patients.  We provide care to critically ill patients with an oncology, bone marrow transplant diagnosis and patients that have had surgical interventions requiring ICU care.  Care of high acuity critically ill patients includes high complexity interventions serving patients of the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT), Oncology, and Surgical services. The presence of a multitude of services provides broad experiences for the nurse.  Care is coordinated by a multidisciplinary team including oncology nurses, attending physicians, fellows, advanced practice nurses, physician assistance, case managers, social workers, spiritual care, pharmacy and psycho-social support.

Professional nursing growth and development are expected, encouraged and supported by the Nursing Resident Program (NRP) for new graduate nurses, the Career Ladder Program, Mock CODEs that are provided, a multitude of educational opportunities to sit and learn with attending physicians and educational preparation for the Critical Care Registered Nurse certification (CCRN), Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) program, and Bone Marrow Transplant Nurse Certification (BMTNC).
