The PCAS department is seeking an software, embedded control engineer for algorithm development and implementation in a variety of electromechanical control assemblies. 

What You Will Do

• You will help design, implement and verify motor control embedded firmware designs for current and future Control Actuation Systems.

• You will implement digital control algorithms in C/C++ in conjunction with the Controls and Algorithms team.

• Additionally, you will interact with mechanical and electrical design engineers and vendors to optimize hardware designs.

• A working understanding of configurable logic (FPGA firmware) and VHDL.

• Experience working with and integrating hardware.

• Basic understanding of modeling and controls of electric motors and solid background in PMSM motor fundamentals

• Digital and analog signal electronics design, development and verification.

• Use of software/firmware configuration management tools such as GIT, Subversion or similar tools

• Strong verbal and written communication and ability to work hands-on in teams.

• Basic proficiency with model development and data analysis in MATLAB/Simulink

• Work across all integrated product teams and lines to properly eliminate hazards or provide effective controls.

• Perform System Safety Program, Hazard analyses or Design analyses

Qualifications You Must Have

An Electronics Lab Assembly/Solder Technician is responsible for assembling, cabling, and validating complex testing rack test systems. This includes building and repairing cables and connector assemblies as a critical part of the role. The Effector Digital Products Department is seeking an electrical engineering leader with experience in engineering management, design, test, and integration. The Section Leader will utilize advanced technical knowledge in FPGA/ASIC Design/Verification and/or Digital CCA Design, and an understand the impact of this work on other areas of the organization.

The candidate will work with section members to provide career guidance, performance feedback, and technical leadership to enable the employee for success. Responsibilities will be split between supporting program(s) as an engineer (~90%) and providing functional leadership to the section (~10%).

• Manage a section of 15 to 20 engineers.

• Provide career and technical mentoring

• Design and deliver production quality FPGA releases from initial proof of concept up to production

• Architect FPGA-based systems to determine parts, interfaces, and Concept of Operations (CONOPS)

• Translate system level requirements into FPGA requirements

• Design and code in VHDL for reliability and maintainability

• Verify designs utilizing self-checking techniques with directed and constrained random tests, while tracking functional and code coverage

• Demonstrate technical expertise in digital signal processing, FPGA/ASIC design/verification, CCA design, integration and test of radar hardware, and/or system architecture

• Lead functional or cross-disciplinary teams to meet organizational goals and project needs

• Design, analysis, simulation, test, and integration of digital electronic modules and/or CCAs for Missile applications

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience

Job Description:
This position is for a Principal Design Engineer. If you enjoy working with hands-on multidiscipline teams, the Test Solutions Engineering Center (TSEC) is interested in hearing from you.

The Test Solutions (TS) Effectors Center (TSEC) within the Hardware Engineering Discipline is a multi-discipline organization responsible for developing Production and Engineering test equipment solutions for all Raytheon products. We are hands-on designers using the latest technology and tools and integrating state-of-the-art software solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world.  TS products are in engineering labs, in the field, and in factories and production testing environments utilized for testing weapon system products. TS has job opportunities across all phases of the engineering lifecycle, including demonstrations, early engineering tests, design verification tests, production, and post-production sustainment.

This Principal Engineer hardware position is focused on supporting and driving the design, development, integration, and maintenance of electronics as a part of on-site factory support of test systems to support weapon system product development and deliveries. The selected candidate will support and drive the development of electrical designs, Interconnect designs, electrical system analysis and integrated development environment specified by the factory solutions and the TSEC organization.

What You Will Do:

• Prioritize and handle several engineering tasks concurrently
• Lead small teams of Electrical Hardware design engineers in support of complex cabling, test chassis or test system solutions
• Develop both engineering and production test systems, test interface adapters, cabling, technical drawing creation, schematic creation, circuit design and analysis
• Lead the troubleshoot of hardware and test equipment instrumentation in Factory Test Platform solutions

What You Will Do:

As a Sr. Production Test Engineer (PTE) you’ll support both the manufacturing test teams and the program they are assigned to support across all make centers where testing is performed and you’ll cover all phases of the product life cycle, including product development, transition to production, sustained production, depot activities and end of contract equipment closeout and dispositioning.

In this role, you’ll support creation of Basis of Estimates (BOE) to estimate costs to add additional capacity, new capabilities and equipment obsolescence and you’ll ensure compliance of the prime hardware to technical data package requirements and supporting test equipment.

Responsibilities to anticipate: 

• Creation and maintenance of the program test equipment obsolescence plan.
• Overall capacity plan for test equipment.
• Supporting make center PTE’s to reduce test time, improve the test process through preliminary investigation and problem resolution of trends, failure modes and test yields.
• Developing test flows and contributing to test capacity analysis.
• Maintaining changes to the test equipment technical data package including drawings, test instructions, test position manuals and system software.
• Assisting in non-routine fault isolation, diagnosis and repair of the product or test equipment.
• Leading root cause and corrective action investigations and presenting findings.
• Performing risk assessments and supporting program risk register reviews.

Qualifications You Must Have:

The Supply Chain Management Operations Department is responsible for the oversight, standardization and technical leadership of the internal material handling operations at the Honda automobile powertrain and final assembly sites across North America. The Process Engineer position is responsible for engineering and executing the internal logistics flow of parts through a specific Honda plant to the production line.  This position will be responsible for supporting the development and design of internal material delivery processes, working and communicating with stakeholders, and developing solutions through process analysis, time studies, work balancing, etc. 

Responsibilities include:

• Lead the development, documentation, and implementation of processes with production departments and third-party logistic (3PL) companies utilizing engineering tools (MOST, AutoCAD, Visio, QMF, Excel, etc.) required to achieve project and business plan targets. 
• Areas of responsibility include manpower planning, process and vanning layout design, expectation sheets development and New Model packaging evaluations
• Identify and implement process improvements in support of business plan objectives and general cost reduction.
• Lead Model SA’s (Situational Analysis) of SCO projects with minor complexity (up to $250,000). 
• Identify and lead tasks as prescribed by and maintain Specified Action Plans (SAP).  Create and manage SAP’s for projects with limited complexity
• Coordinate with production departments and 3PLs on the investigation of production related issues of significant complexity and coordinate the implementation of countermeasures for complex production related issues.
• Mentor EX1 and EX2 process associates, provide feedback on work output and quality.

• Lead Model SA’s (Situational Analysis) of SCO projects with minor complexity (up to $250,000). 
• Identify and lead tasks as prescribed by and maintain Specified Action Plans (SAP).  Create and manage SAP’s for projects with limited complexity
• Coordinate with production departments and 3PLs on the investigation of production related issues of significant complexity and coordinate the implementation of countermeasures for complex production related issues.
• Mentor EX1 and EX2 process associates, provide feedback on work output and quality.

Who we are seeking:

Required Work Experience:

• 2+ Years of experience in Engineering role

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant expereince

Desired skills:

• Problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and projects
• Solid organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Meet customer expectations by establishing and leading systems that develop, implement, confirm and sustain welding processes which ensure white body structural integrity through New Model and Mass Production to maintain and improve SQCDME characteristics and meet business plan goals.

• Lead destruct activity, including training, to confirm equipment and weld quality to prevent shipment of non-conforming product and meet HES (Honda Engineering Standard) requirements.
• Lead, manage and maintain weldability equipment systems and documentation that supports the development and implementation of countermeasures that achieve and improve quality goals and characteristics improvements.
• Provide engineering technical knowledge through comprehension and promotion of HES (Honda Engineering Standard), Specifications, Drawings, and deptartment reporting documentation to ensure compliance.
• Provide Past Problem History of spot weld problem areas in equipment, stackups, gaps, etc. and recommend New Model spec changes to improve characteristics and prevent outflow.
• Confirm stackups and develop countermeasure weld parameters (ie. Squeeze force, current, time, etc..) to meet HES (Honda Engineering Standard) requirements.
• Manage Business Plan through FOG (Future Operational Growth) activity for improvements to ensure delivery and quality targets are met.
• Review drawing data at each drawing event and provide feedback of potential new struggle areas to support New Model development activity to improve manufacturability.
• Lead, evaluate, investigate and make proposals of specs for welding equipment needs (in the areas of new equipment, consumables, welding hardware, spare parts, Preventive Maintenance and inspection technologies) and act as a liaison between the department and vendors to ensure the department meets quality, delivery and cost requirements.
• Maintain regular communication with other facilities to coordinate North America or global weld activity to adopt best practices.
• Develop, manage and implement the established Company E-Flow to accomplish Business Plan Targets.
• Develop self and team through technical training, mentoring, and sharing of experience for team growth.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 2 years engineering experience
• OR Associate's Degree in Engineering and 6 years engineering experience
• OR High School Diploma and 8 years engineering experience
• 2-8 years of welding, equipment engineering and/or robotics engineering experience
• Strong verbal and written communication, equipment or robotics experience
