Oncologist
- Hematologic Locum Tenens Opportunity Near New London, CT We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Oncologist for a locum tenens position near New London, CT.
This flexible opportunity requires coverage from ASAP to an ongoing basis, offering a chance to work in a dynamic outpatient cancer practice.
You will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to patients with various types of cancer, supported by an experienced team of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities: Provide expert medical care to patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
Split time between two locations, ensuring consistent and comprehensive patient care.
Manage a caseload of approximately 15 patients per day, with 1-2 new patients daily.
Collaborate with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to deliver holistic care in a 1.0 FTE environment.
Limited on-call duties, approximately 1 in 5, with very light call responsibilities.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, adhering to all healthcare regulations and standards.
Schedule and Details: Schedule Type: Flexible, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Semi-flexible).
On-Call: Limited, approximately 1 in 5, with very light duties.
Location: Near New London, CT.
Start Date: ASAP.

Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degreerequired for Physician Assistants
- Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
Work Experience
- One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required. Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience.
Required Licenses/Certifications

- Active state medical licensure
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred
- Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc.
- Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required.
- Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting required.
