Our team of dedicated professionals provides a multitude of consulting services to clients in higher education, state agencies, and private institutions to promote reliable equipment operations, environmental sustainability, and reduced energy consumption.
We hold several term contracts with New York State Agencies, and we have extensive experience providing commissioning services for projects seeking LEED certification.
DUTIES Provide primary support for managing the day-to-day activities for the Cx group.
This includes: Communicating directly with the Senior Director to establish priorities, understand project or client expectations, and available team resources.
Understanding project scopes, budgets, clients, project schedules, deliverable milestones, and client expectations.
Providing required project leadership and serving as the client interface for multiple projects concurrently.
Determining project and task distribution, as well as deadline schedules, for themselves as well as other team members.
Supporting the development and review of key deliverables such as commissioning specifications, plans, and reports, as well as energy audit and retro-commissioning work products.

QUALIFICATIONS A college education or equivalent is mandatory.
Applicants should have formalized training or education related to HVAC or an applicable engineering discipline with a minimum of ten yearsβ experience in a technical or building operations-related field.
Specific experience in third party Commissioning or Retro-Commissioning is preferable.
Applicants should have practical experience with HVAC equipment, building operations, and systems, and possess a strong understanding of MEP systems, with emphasis on HVAC and control systems, as well as troubleshooting of complex systems.
Experience with commercial, governmental, and institutional clients is preferred.
Professional certifications such as CCP, CBCP, LEED AP, and CEM are preferred.
Candidates should be willing and able to travel utilizing their own personal vehicle throughout New York State and the adjoining tri-state area.
It is estimated that travel to job sites will be required 2 to 3 days per week.

Responsibilities
In this role as Senior MechanicalΒ Engineer, it will beΒ focused on facility assessments for the New York State Office of General Services facility assessment program.Β The ideal candidate will have extensive experience evaluating facilities and preparing reports to support strategic decision-making and resource allocations.Β AdditionalΒ responsibilities will include:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of facilities for NYS OGS portfolio of buildings, adhering to established protocols and standards
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to define assessment criteria and objectives aligned with mission of LiRo-Hill and NYS OGS
- Utilize industry leading methodologies and tools to gather, analyze, and present assessment data effectively
- Develop detailed Improvement Plans that effectively prioritize facility upgrades and renovations based on assessment data and program priorities
- Engage with interdisciplinary teams to integrate assessment results into conceptual design for cost estimation and scheduling team members
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to support the program
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs Degree or Masterβs Degree in MechanicalΒ EngineeringΒ
- Licenced PE with significant experienceΒ in facility assessments
- 10-15 years of industry experience
- Proven track record of managing assessments for public agencies or governmental organizations
- Familiarity with NYS OGS procedures a significant plus
- Strong knowledge of building systems and construction methodologies, with experience evaluating diverse facility types
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences
- A detailed-oriented mindset committed to accuracy and precision in assessment methodologies and reporting
- Knowledge of Uniformat Group II classifications system a plus
