Job summary
The Business Banking Specialist maintains a high level of expertise in the products and services designed for business & non-profit clients. This position has knowledge of multiple financial services, including cash management, and services new and existing customers in a manner consistent with the sales, service, and operational goals of the bank. The Business Banking Specialist support the commercial banking team by preparing commercial loan documents, loan closings, and providing superior customer service.
Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepares and processes commercial loan documents for Commercial Bankers in preparation for loan closing and forwards file to the Loan Operations Department.
- Performs special projects as assigned such as business development reports, loan status reports, loan quality control reports/monitoring, and/or risk based capital reports.
- Preparation of various documents including subordination agreements, modification agreements, extension agreements and deeds of reconveyance.
- Answers customer inquiries regarding balances, payoffs, collateral, etc. Maintains thorough working knowledge of the products and services, including cash management designed for business & non-profit clients, bank/branch goals, policies, and operating procedures, as well as all current promotions.
- Originates consumer and small business loans for business clients. Processes advances on loans and manages loan activity.
- Interviews clients and sets up products and services specifically designed to meet the needs of the business and non-profit customers. Calls on existing customers to develop new and/or additional business and to protect and strengthen existing profitable customer relationships. Opens commercial, non-profit and personal deposit accounts, to include preparing signature cards, corporate resolutions and account documentation.
- Review daily overdraft report and work with Lender to decision whether to pay or decline check.
- Achieve compliance certification and use knowledge of compliance/CRA regulations in day-to-day activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
- 2+ years in banking experience, preferably commercial lending, lending administration or as a Personal Banker.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Possess knowledge of lending and bank operations.
- Ability to communicate both oral and written in a courteous and professional manner.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to compare data from two sources and locate discrepancies.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
The expected starting range for this role is $23.00-$40.38 per hour. Compensation decisions will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and education, which may determine where within the range the starting pay will fall.

- Escalate more complex servicing matters to Personal Bankers or leadership.
Operational Excellence, Risk & Compliance:
- Adhere to operational standards, security practices, and regulatory requirements including BSA/AML, KYC, OFAC, Reg CC, and Reg E.
- Protect customer data, ensure confidentiality, and follow documentation procedures.
- Maintain auditready accuracy in all teller work and branch support tasks.
Team Collaboration & Community Engagement:
- Participate in daily huddles and collaborate with team members to meet branch goals.
- Support community outreach efforts and represent Nicolet in local engagement activities.
- Assist with branch operations needs such as supplies, scheduling coverage, or special projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Draft, review, and negotiate loan documentation, including term sheets and credit agreements.
- Manage loan syndications, amendments, waivers, and modifications.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

This role partners closely with Compensation leadership, HR business partners, Finance, and enterprise systems teams to deliver annual merit, incentive, and long-term incentive programs.
The focus is execution, analysis, and process ownership, with significant responsibility for tools, data, and continuous improvement.
This role is well-suited for someone who enjoys working in Excel, improving processes, managing multiple inputs, and operating in an environment where systems, data, and programs continue to evolve.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Broad-Based Compensation Process & Program Lead (50%) Partner with Compensation, HR, and Finance on annual incentive tracking, accruals, modeling, and payout processes Manage the communication process for annual incentive plans and create tools to support engagement and understanding Serve as program lead for U.S.-based compensation structures Own process execution for the annual merit cycle Own process execution for the annual incentive cycle Compensation Tools & Resources Lead (30%) Manage compensation survey participation, including supporting junior team members through submission processes Own vendor relationships with compensation survey and market pricing providers Lead the development and delivery of compensation tools and resources in partnership with Compensation and HR Act as the compensation business partner for enterprise technology platforms connected to compensation (e.g., HRIS, payroll, performance systems) Maintain and support overall job architecture structures within compensation systems Long-Term Incentive Process Lead (20%) Manage annual, off-cycle, and non-employee director long-term incentive grant processes Support long-term incentive communications and materials BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree 5–7 years experience in compensation, finance, or HR, with a minimum of 3 years in heavy analysis Strong attention to detail with the ability to execute accurately under pressure Advanced Excel skills, including macros and vlookups Demonstrated experience improving and managing processes Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience owning annual merit and incentive processes Experience with compensation surveys and market pricing tools (e.g., PayFactors, Marketpay) Exposure to long-term incentive administration Interested in hearing more? Responsibilities
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the senior leadership, responsible for aligning financial strategy with operational execution. This executive is a forward-thinking leader who challenges the status quo while championing the strategic direction of the company. The CFO provides leadership for the development, implementation, and evaluation of procedures and performance across financial and operational functions.
- Serve as a strategic finance/operations leader and active member of the Senior Leadership team.
- Partner with the President to accelerate execution, optimize outcomes, and reduce costs.
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to foster collaboration and innovation.
- Lead the company’s innovation efforts, including reinforcing behaviors that encourage innovation.
- Represent the organization within Berkley, collaborating effectively with business partners.
- Manage financial planning, ensuring scalable systems and processes for both long and short-term goals.
- Oversee treasury, accounting, budgeting, premium audit, agency billing, and accounts receivable functions.
- Deliver accurate financial reporting and forecasting to ensure financial viability.
- Maintain internal controls, ensure successful audits, and compliance.
- Provide strategic financial insights aligned with the company’s market position and business model.
- Monitor financial performance and advise the President on strategic direction.
- Analyze data and performance trends to identify opportunities and drive results.
May perform other functions as assigned
Qualifications
- 10+ years of finance/operations experience.
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in finance and operations.
- Financial insurance experience is preferred.
- Strategic and innovative thinking, creative problem solving, data-driven.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills to work successfully with multiple business partners.
- Exceptional organizational skills, integrity, and great follow-through on tasks.
- Strong project management and leadership skills; ability to organize and drive projects with diverse stakeholders.
