The Department of Dermatology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking an academic inpatient and outpatient medical dermatologist with interests in patient care and teaching. The inpatient portion covers 25% of total hospital-based dermatology inpatient consultations at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. While on the inpatient service, the position entails four half-day morning clinical sessions per week with afternoons dedicated to consultations with the Harvard Combined dermatology resident team. Non-inpatient weeks are supplemented with 2-3 afternoon clinic sessions per week. Evening and weekend consultation coverage is shared with other faculty members. Our department provides unique opportunities for medical dermatologists to teach and practice at the Medical Center in the Longwood Medical Area and/or our department’s state-of-the-art practices in Chestnut Hill and Needham. At BIDMC we provide equitable care for a diverse population representing Boston and its surrounding communities. As a major Harvard Medical School teaching hospital, we provide training for Harvard students, fellows, and residents in the specialty of dermatology. Conduct daily rounds and manage care for a typical panel of 10-14 patients per day

The hospitalist will manage a panel of medically fragile patients with support from physical medicine & rehabilitation physicians, nursing, pharmacy, therapy, case management, and specialty consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Serve as attending physician for medically complex and post-acute rehab inpatients
    • Conduct daily rounds and manage care for a typical panel of 10–14 patients per day
    • Complete admissions, discharge summaries, H&Ps, and progress notes
    • Respond to RRT activations and medical codes during shifts as assigned
    • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on care planning and discharge readiness

Schedule & Coverage:

    • Monday–Friday, no nights or weekends
    • No overnight shifts; nocturnist coverage in place
    • Ability to sign up for moonlighting shifts (nights or weekends) as available.
