Duties & Responsibilities:
The Associate Attorney will perform the following:
- Civil municipal legal work involving a wide variety of legal issues, cases, and projects.
- Able to work independently on legal matters and will work with more experienced attorneys on more complex legal matters.
- Will provide solid legal advice in the following areas: Public Information Act, Contracts, Labor and Employment, Litigation, Court Prosecution, Real Estate, Eminent Domain, Compliance, etc.
- Able to manage a litigation case load.
- Regularly handling court appearances and depositions.
- Drafting/reviewing pleadings, motions, and discovery.
- Communicating with clients and provide status reports.
Qualifications:
- J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Current Bar Admission.
- 2-3 years of experience as a practicing attorney currently employed in a city or county government court environment.
- Trial and trial preparation experience is a plus!
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
