Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts: client agreements, vendor contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, confidentiality agreements, and more.
- Lead contract negotiations directly with clients, suppliers, vendors, or subcontractors.
- Exercise independent judgment when modifying or redlining contract language within defined risk parameters.
- Interpret contract terms, propose alternative language, and manage redlines through execution.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of all incorporated documents and referenced materials.

- Support project managers and coordinators through contract formation and execution.

Qualifications
- Paralegal Certificate required
- Degree in Paralegal Studies or an equivalent combination of education and legal/contract experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in contracts, negotiation, or similar legal support roles
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to independently negotiate and interpret contract terms in a fastβpaced environment
- Strong time management skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
- Experience effectively presenting information to small groups or stakeholders

Responsibilities
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the senior leadership, responsible for aligning financial strategy with operational execution. This executive is a forward-thinking leader who challenges the status quo while championing the strategic direction of the company. They understand the importance of culture, brand, and market strategy, and have strong emotional intelligence. The CFO provides leadership for the development, implementation, and evaluation of procedures and performance across financial and operational functions.
- Serve as a strategic finance/operations leader and active member of the Senior Leadership team.
- Partner with the President to accelerate execution, optimize outcomes, and reduce costs.
- Lead and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to foster collaboration and innovation.
- Lead the companyβs innovation efforts, including reinforcing behaviors that encourage innovation.
- Represent the organization within Berkley, collaborating effectively with business partners.
- Manage financial planning, ensuring scalable systems and processes for both long and short-term goals.
- Oversee treasury, accounting, budgeting, premium audit, agency billing, and accounts receivable functions.
- Deliver accurate financial reporting and forecasting to ensure financial viability.
- Maintain internal controls, ensure successful audits, and compliance.
- Provide strategic financial insights aligned with the companyβs market position and business model.
- Monitor financial performance and advise the President on strategic direction.
- Analyze data and performance trends to identify opportunities and drive results.
May perform other functions as assigned
Qualifications
- 10+ years of finance/operations experience.
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in finance and operations.
- Financial insurance experience is preferred.
- Strategic and innovative thinking, creative problem solving, data-driven.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills to work successfully with multiple business partners.
- Exceptional organizational skills, integrity, and great follow-through on tasks.
- Strong project management and leadership skills; ability to organize and drive projects with diverse stakeholders.
- Results-oriented, attentive to detail, with a proven ability to achieve long-term goals.
- Ability to be nimble and rapidly pivot when needed.
- Motivated to challenge the status quo.
Education
- 10+ years of finance/operations experience.
