FIELD SERVICE TECHNICIAN, FULL-TIME – Auburn Hills, MI:
Ensure optimal performance and reliability of machinery. This position involves assembling, unloading, installing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, cleaning, repairing new and used capital equipment. Strong experience with power tools, building, installing, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic troubleshooting necessary. Ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in electrical, robotics or cell automation, ironworking or anchoring, millwright, welder or journeyman to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
Your time is divided, either onsite in Auburn Hills, MI or offsite at customer plants when service or installation is required. HERCO's business hours are 7:30am-4:30pm onsite; vary when offsite at plants with possible weekends when a project installation is required - advance notice given. Over $10,000 invested in you! FANUC robotic classes, OSHA-30, Forklift, Fall Protection, Aerial and Rigging courses and certifications provided by HERCO. No sponsorship nor agencies at this time.

The role involves development and optimization of engine start-stop systems, hybrid torque management, and transmission control algorithms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development of Torque Control strategies for eDCT transmissions
- Implementation of Hybrid Shift Execution (HSER) algorithms
- Support Engine Start-Stop / Auto Start-Stop control development
- Develop clutch torque command and torque estimation models
- Work on engine speed control, torque path management, and shift execution
- Model and simulate control strategies using MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow
- Support closed-loop simulation and system validation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Agile development environments
Required Skills:
- Strong experience in eDCT transmission controls and hybrid powertrain systems
- Knowledge of Torque Control and Shift Execution strategies
- Experience with MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow
- Familiarity with Git and Agile development practices
- Knowledge of axle disconnect / wheel-end disconnect systems is a plus
Preferred:
