Primary Duties:

* Operates and documents all aspects of the Cath Lab including all procedures performed in the Cath Lab. May function as a Scrub Assistant, ensuring maximum compliance to principles of aseptic/sterile technique by self and members of the team. Ensures adequate floor and room stock are available for imaging procedures. Assists in the recording, storing, retrieval and analyzing data obtained during the interventional cardiovascular procedures. Assists in monitoring patients. Including Hemodynamic data/ECG/Angiographic data. Recognition of changes of the above, documenting as necessary and reporting to physician and other team members in a time sensitive fashion. Assists with preparation of radiologic and other laboratory equipment to be used during the procedure while adhering to the principles of aseptic/sterile technique. Maintains and evaluates equipment, and troubleshoots equipment as needed. Responsible for the proper use and operation of all related interventional equipment. Properly positions patient for procedure and informs patient what to expect during the procedure as well as any instructions that the patient needs to follow. Participates in data collection and results reporting for ongoing quality improvement.
* Maintains a clean, safe, prepared work environment. Prepares room for procedure. Cleans and sterilizes equipment and procedure table. Restocks and requests room supplies that have dwindled. Checks drug supplies and informs the appropriate person of what needs to be replenished.
* Maintains current knowledge, certification, and licensure. Identifies learning needs in self and initiates actions to address these education needs. Attends continuing education programs to maintain certification. Attends hospital sponsored training programs as required by the department Completes all mandatory requirements, certifications, and licensure within allotted time for completion.

Primary Duties:

  • Provides evaluation services including review of pertinent historical information, performance of specific assessments, and determination of recommendations and documentation of results. Explains evaluation findings and treatment plan to patient and family and incorporates patient and family in the goals setting.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in implementation of treatment protocols based upon evaluation findings, the patient's presentation, and the evolving health care environment. Consults with other healthcare professionals as indicated. Recognizes and documents changes in patient's condition requiring modification of the plan of care and/or the need for medical/rehabilitation consultation.

  • Completes appropriate discharge planning and follow-up care. Accurately and timely documents and charges for patient care activities considering our evolving health care environment, painting a clear picture of the patient's course of care including focused initial evaluation/plan of care that establishes baseline and goals, daily encounter notes, interim progress summaries, and discharge evaluation.

  • Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations. Manage an accurate schedule. Demonstrates a professional commitment to provide frictionless patient access to care through flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and actions/behaviors that display empathy in our patient consumer driven environment.

  • Takes initiative in pursuing and directing continuing education for professional growth and competency for self and organization. Serves as a clinical instructor to assign students. Assists with orientation and mentoring of inexperienced staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy.

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Physical Therapy.

  • Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia licensure required as deemed necessary for your specific location(s).

  • American Heart Association's BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) certification.

Primary Duties:
  • Provides direct PT evaluations and re-evaluations, including assessment of prior and current level of functioning, setting appropriate goals and making appropriate discharge recommendations in accordance with standards of practice. Provides direct PT treatments according to standards of practice, including patient and family education, progression of treatment plan and implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  • Utilizes appropriate documentation forms and abides by PM&R's documentation standards. Collaborates with physicians, patients, family, and other members of the health care team relative to patient treatment and progress and other affiliated agencies. Actively participates in meetings, in-services, and rounds regarding patient care and/or departmental items.
  • Supervises PTAs and rehabilitation technicians. Coordinates and prioritizes own schedule in relation to demands of patient treatment and other departmental responsibilities.
  • Participates in program development as assigned by PT Clinical Leader. Participates in at least 10 contact hours of continuing education programs or other opportunities for learning for continued professional competency. Provides at least one yearly in-service to staff and/or community for continuing education purposes.
  • Adheres to all Department of Health and Joint Commission regulations regarding the physical environment and patient care.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in physical therapy.
  • Physical Therapist Current D.C (District of Columbia) license or qualified candidate for D.C. license as a Physical Therapist.
  • D.C. License, be eligible for a reciprocity license, or apply to sit for the board examination.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support).
