Candidates should have excellent academic credentials, as well as advanced communication, writing, and analytical skills. Key Responsibilities

Our team is growing! Trustpoint.One has partnered with a nationally recognized employer, with offices in St. Louis, in their search for licensed attorneys, with prior litigation experience, to join an existing and growing team. This is a great opportunity to join a long-term, open-ended project that will involve:
- In-depth claims review, including reviewing all records and information necessary to assess the claim.
- Preparing a Claim Summaries and Medical Chronologies that includes a general calculation of damages to review with managing counsel.
- Contacting claimantβs counsel to initiate settlement negotiations after receiving authorization of the appropriate settlement range for that claim from managing counsel.
- Requesting a settlement check and drafting necessary settlement agreement, if a settlement is reached, or requesting a denial letter, if the claim cannot be settled.
- Performing necessary follow-up and detailed status record keeping while working through these claims.

Requirements include:
- Must be a Member, in good standing, of at least one US State Bar
- Prior experience working on litigation cases, including clerkships and paralegal experience, and/or claims review experience is required
- Must be highly organized and detail oriented
- Successful candidates must complete the process to secure a government security clearance before starting this project
- Pay rate: $30/hour; 40 hours per week (which you can work in a 4 day week if desired)
- Must reside in the St. Louis area and be able to work in the office in St. Louis on a hybrid basis
- All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time.

What youβll do:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of products liability litigation, with an emphasis in asbestos defense, including case intake, investigation, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and post-trial activities
- Review, organize, and summarize various types of records, including medical records, incident reports, plaintiff fact sheets, work histories, deposition transcripts, and other case-related documents
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, answers, motions, subpoenas, and discovery requests and responses
- Coordinate, schedule, and prepare attorneys for meetings, depositions with experts and witnesses, and court appearances
- Prepare subpoenas, authorizations, and document production logs
- Prepare and maintain detailed case chronologies, exposure analyses, and product identification summaries
- Conduct factual and legal research to support case strategy
- Conduct research to locate expert witnesses
- Prepare exhibits and other materials for hearings, mediations, and trials
- Support attorneys in trial preparation and attend trial, as necessary
- Support attorneys in settlement negotiations, including preparation of settlement documents and releases
- Communicate professionally with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and other third parties
- Track case deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures
You should have:
- 4 Year Degree in Legal Studies or 4 Year Bachelorβs Degree with a minimum of 2 Years experience as a billing Paralegal or 2 Year Degree in Paralegal/Legal Studies and a minimum of 5 Years experience.
- Knowledge of legal principles and practices at a level normally acquired through formal paralegal training
- Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
- Ability to proofread material for contextual, grammatical, typographic, or spelling errors
- Ability to review, organize, analyze, and summarize facts and documents
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Products
- Proficient in document management and case management software
- Ability to travel to private and public buildings, locally or nationwide, via private or public transportation to assist attorney in representing clients

What weβre looking for: Our St. Louis office is seeking to hire a Litigation Associate to support our growing clientele. We are looking for energetic, driven, detail-oriented people for this on-site position.
Our cases are complex, frequently involving dozens of defendants. We often achieve multi-million dollar recoveries for our clients. Because of our complex litigation and commitment to our clients, our firm is 100% on site. This allows for a collaborative, open-door environment where we can work together to effectively represent and advocate for our clients.
As an associate, you will learn all aspects of asbestos litigation. The successful candidate should be a quick study as you will need to become familiar with various sources of asbestos exposure and the basic medical terminology associated with mesothelioma. You will be responsible for case investigation, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, document review, drafting and arguing motions, and preparing cases for trial. The successful candidate will serve as a second or third chair during trials with the potential to first chair trials after gaining sufficient experience.

Qualifications:
Β· J.D. from ABA accredited institution and admission to Missouri bar, or eligibility for reciprocity (Illinois admission is a bonus);
Β· Strong academic record;
Β· Excellent legal research and writing abilities;
Β· Ability to cultivate and maintain strong client relationships;
Β· Willingness to travel (30-40% travel on average) to client's homes and other relevant locations frequently for multiple nights;
Β· Ability to work as an individual and as a part of a team on behalf of injured clients;
Β· Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize;
Β· Ability to work under a deadline in a fast-paced environment;
Β· Commitment to plaintiff work.
Preferred Experience:
Β· Experienced attorneys ideally have some trial, research and writing, and deposition experience, along with case management. Prior asbestos (plaintiffsβ side) experience is preferred, but not required. Candidates with judicial clerkship experience are encouraged to apply.
