Role Purpose
Evaluates the client and furnishes services requiring substantial and specialized skill, appropriate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures, and instructions to assist the client in learning appropriate self-care techniques. When assigned as case manager, the staff nurse is responsible for coordinating all aspects of care related to that patient.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
- Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.

The Cardiac Cath Lab has a 97% success rate in acute interventional cases and a current rate of 100% of STEMI patients receiving emergency percutaneous cardiac intervention within 90 minutes. The Staff Nurse (RN) is an integral part of the patient care team using critical thinking skills, clinical expertise and critical care skills to continually assess the patients' hemodynamic, neurologic and respiratory response to the varied procedures performed in the lab. The Staff Nurse (RN) is responsible for administering conscious sedation to patients during these procedures as well continually assessing their level of sedation and managing their airway. The Staff Nurse (RN) always puts the patients needs first by being a patient advocate in all aspects of care.

There is a treatment room available. A surgical waiting room is located on the west end of the unit. Any semi-private room can be made private for isolation purposes or to accommodate patient requests. A wide variety of adult and geriatric patients are cared for on the surgical unit. They specialize in general, vascular, thoracic, gynecological, and urological surgery. The unit includes patients with infections, wound care and those requiring isolation. an Enterostomal Therapist is available to assist in teaching new ostomy patients, marking pre-surgical ostomy patients as well as facilitating car of patients with draining wounds or managing skin problems.

Kidney/liver transplant surgery and hepatobiliary performs a variety of procedures, including pancreas transplants. Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
The Graduate Nurse provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care after completing a nursing program and before licensure. Will be required to obtain licensure within 90 days of graduation from an accredited school of nursing to remain employed in a HSO in the state of Missouri.
Responsibilities
- Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.
- Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate patient's physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
- Develops and implements individual plans of care in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.
- Evaluates patient's response and modifies plan of care accordingly throughout the patient's stay.
- Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.

Kidney/liver transplant surgery and hepatobiliary performs a variety of procedures, including pancreas transplants. Our kidney disease program is consistently ranked among the best in the nation by U.S.News & World Report, with more than 250 kidney transplants performed each year. Our multidisciplinary team is comprised of nurses, physicians, pharmacists, dieticians, social workers and spiritual caregivers who communicate daily to meet patient needs.
