Qualifications
Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
Strong clinical judgment with the ability to manage high-acuity obstetric patients independently

Prior experience as a nocturnist or hospital-based OB/GYN preferred
Interest in resident education and supervision preferred (but not required)
Responsibilities
Provide
overnight, in-house OB/GYN coverage
for Labor & Delivery, obstetric triage, and emergency gynecologic care
Manage laboring patients, obstetric emergencies, and unassigned patients during night shifts
Perform vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections as clinically indicated
Collaborate closely with nursing staff, anesthesia, neonatology, and daytime OB/GYN teams to ensure continuity of care
Supervise and support OB/GYN residents during overnight shifts, as applicable
Participate in quality and safety initiatives related to obstetric care
Night shifts are structured and scheduled to support work-life balance; weekend and holiday coverage included per nocturnist schedule

The Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center is a primary and premier teaching hospital for Baylor College of Medicine residents and cardiology fellows.
The cardiology section is a large section, and consists of many nationally and internationally recognized thought leaders, clinical leaders, and guideline leaders in cardiology. Baylor College of Medicine is a nationally ranked medical school and research center, within the Texas Medical Center.
